Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (Viswavidyalaya) is State University which has been established by the Gazette notification on 03.02.2012 of Chhattisgarh Act No 07, 2012,The Chhattisgarh Viswavidyalaya ( Amendament) Act, 2011 and came in to its existance in June, 2012. The jurisdiction of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya is extended to 04 districts namely:- revenue districts of Bilaspur, Mungeli , Korba, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi.The University is situated on In Front of Koni Police Thana ,Bilaspur- Ratanpur Road,Koni ,Bilaspur (C.G) 495009. There are nearly 95 Govt. and private colleges affiliated in the 04 districts of Chhattisgarh State which together constitute the jurisdiction of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya. The colleges carry out undergraduate and postgraduate studies in different streams of Science, Arts, Commerce, Law and Education and Centres of research.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (formerly Bilaspur Vishwavidyalaya) is a public state university located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India. The university was established by Act No. 7 of 2012 - The Chhattisgarh Vishwavidyalaya (Amendment) Act, 2011 of the state legislature of Chhattisgarh. Founded in 2012, the university is UGC (University Grants Commision) affiliated. The university is situated in Koni, beside Koni, Police Station. The jurisdiction of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya is extended to four districts including Bilaspur. Around 95 government and private colleges affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur Chhattisgarh (C.G.). Named after Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it is one of the most popular state universities in the region of Bilaspur district with a huge urban campus. Affiliated Colleges - D.P. (Dwarika Prasad) Vipra College, affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh (formerly known as Bilaspur University), offers various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in arts, commerce and science. The old university building is located beside the old high court road. The newly established building is situated in Koni, beside Koni, Police Station. The college is under section 2(f) and 12(B) established in 1969. Currently teaching upto Master's. The nature of affiliation is permanent and is non-government and aided. The state university is under 2(f) and Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Certificate of Accreditation by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) an autonomous institution of University Grants Commission - In June 09, 2017, D.P. Vipra College received Certificate of Accreditation and CGPA of 3.01 on seven point scale at A grade valid up to June 08, 2022 by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) an autonomous institution of University Grants Commission. Even in January 17, 2023 D.P. Vipra College received Certificate of Accreditation valid for five years. It is accredited with CGPA of 3.21 on four point scale at A grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) an autonomous institution of University Grants Commission and valid up to January 16, 2028. It has received prestigious A grade by NAAC twice for ten years. It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in arts, commerce and sciences. Some of the degrees include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Master of Arts (MA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Master of Commerce (MCom), Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc). It offers various master degree courses, Master of Arts (MA) in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Sociology and Public Administration.

Great infrastructure , consist of 5 floor, at each floor atleast there is 4 fire extinguisher machine, Huge campus in Chhattisgarh.

It's old building of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, The new one is established in KONI Bilaspur but some of department's are still there...
