Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary, New Delhi - Featured Reviews (1404)
Review of Asola Wildlife Sanctuary: I recently had the opportunity to visit the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary, and I must say, it was an incredibly rewarding experience. Nestled on the southern edge of Delhi, this sanctuary offers a much-needed respite from the bustling city life, immersing visitors in the tranquility of nature. One of the standout features of the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary is its diverse range of flora and fauna. Spread across a sprawling area of approximately 32 square kilometers, the sanctuary boasts a variety of ecosystems, including scrubland, rocky terrain, and grassy plains. As I explored the sanctuary, I was captivated by the rich biodiversity that thrives within its boundaries. The sanctuary is home to a wide array of animal species, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. During my visit, I was fortunate enough to spot several species of birds, including peacocks, kingfishers, and eagles. The sanctuary also houses mammals such as nilgai, Indian gazelle, and porcupines, which can be spotted if you keep your eyes peeled. The presence of such a diverse range of animals truly showcases the sanctuary's commitment to conservation. For those who enjoy hiking and trekking, the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary offers several well-maintained trails. These trails provide an opportunity to explore the sanctuary's varied terrain and discover hidden gems along the way. The fresh air, scenic views, and the occasional encounter with wildlife create a memorable experience for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. Another noteworthy aspect of the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary is the presence of knowledgeable guides who accompany visitors on their journeys. These guides are well-versed in the sanctuary's history, its inhabitants, and the conservation efforts taking place. Their expertise adds a layer of depth to the experience, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the sanctuary's significance and the importance of preserving its natural treasures. The sanctuary also offers facilities such as picnic spots and rest areas, making it an ideal destination for a day trip or a weekend getaway with family and friends. The well-maintained infrastructure ensures that visitors can enjoy their time in the sanctuary comfortably. However, it is worth noting that due to its proximity to the urban area, the sanctuary faces some challenges related to encroachment and pollution. Efforts are being made to address these issues, but visitors should be mindful of their impact on the environment and follow the guidelines set by the sanctuary authorities. In conclusion, the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. Its abundant natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and commitment to conservation make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Whether you're a birdwatcher, a wildlife enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this sanctuary offers an immersive experience that will leave you with cherished memories.
Nice family outing or some nature time.. It's in Delhi and worth a visit..
This place is still improving for tourists. If you want to feel Jungle stuffs. You should go there.
The main attractions are the butterfly park and the beautiful Neeli Jheel located 16km inside the park. Entry ticket for the jheel is Rs.500/person and for park is Rs10. This water body is located inside the asola bhatti wildlife sanctuary. Entry is from the gate near the karni Singh shooting range. One needs to fill a form and buy tickets to enter the sanctuary. The jheel is further 16km from the sanctuary gate. The road is still being constructed. One should wear comfortable shoes and keep water bottle. The place is so magical. Absolutely calm and hardly any people. Water is crystal clear and you can witness many beautiful birds and animals. It's good to have binoculars. Due to the remoteness of the place is not advisable to stay till late. Leopards have been sighted inside so it's best not to venture on unpaved roads without proper guides. Do keep all your garbage and plastic bags with you as this place is a wildlife sanctuary and has been kept very clean. Let's not spoil this hidden gem of our city. Note: Although the place has been inaugurated but it's still not open for public till 14th Feb 23, as the road is being constructed to the neeli jheel. Please contact the asola bhatti authority before planning a trip. It might be fully functional in a month or so. A canteen and boating facilities are also in the pipeline.
A very nature friendly visit. People living in nearby areas must pay a visit to wildlife in this sanctury. It was very beautiful experience. We even went first time by the wrong way which wasted our 2 hour. So, Always go by the Right way which is Cycling Route. Just follow the Cycle Map. Be aware that Ticket is very very costly. Ticket for one person is Rs 510. Even for Jim Corbett National Park, Ticket is Rs 200 Only.
A starting point for bird spotting enthusiasts. Got to view quite a few even with binoculars. The independent butterfly Park is amazing with a variety of butterflies flitting between the well identified trees and plants. Recommend a visit to this green lung of our capital.
I was very surprised to find this beautiful place in the heart of Delhi. This is a proper wildlife sanctuary and you can find animals like Jackels, leopard, deers, wild cats, lizards, monkeys, peacocks and many different varieties of birds. Main attraction here is the "Neeli Jheel" a lake which is situated at the centre of the sanctuary and it is approx 16 kms inside the jungle. You need your own 4 wheeler as it is a dense forest and entry fees is Rs500 per person. Must visit place within Delhi to take break and to get some fresh air.
