The museum is a collection of all idols and structures that were destroyed by invaders from Delhi Sultanate. The entry fees is Rs5/- per person. You have to pay online and show the ticket to the security who makes an entry. After that you can visit the museum. It's small but has good collection of wooden sculptures. There is a very neat and clean washroom besides the museums along with drinking water facility.
The Halebidu Archaeological Museum is a treasure trove of Hoysala masterpieces, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Saiva, Vaishnava, and Jain faiths. Though overshadowed by the magnificent Hoysaleshwara temple, a visit here aids in identifying the sculptures' names. The collection, gathered from nearby ruins, is truly remarkable. It's worth noting that online tickets, priced at a mere 5rs for Indians, are required for entry. While the museum may pale in comparison to its iconic neighbor, it remains an essential stop for art enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of the region's history and artistic legacy. This is a must visit place near Bangalore. If you ever come to Belur or Halebeedu, don't miss the place.
Once you have seen the Hoysaleshwara temple, the museum pales in comparison. However a visit helps to identify the name of the sculptures. Need to get the tickets online though (even though they are just 5rs for Indians)
The Halebidu Archaeological Museum exhibits include some of the finest Hoysala masterpieces of Saiva, Vaishnava and Jain faiths collected from nearby ruins. Ticket counter is closed and the staff is insisting to buy online tickets. But I had no internet connectivity to buy online tickets and had to come in the next day.
The Halebeedu Archaeological Site houses a museum managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as well. We visited these monuments in December 2018. It contains several pieces of ruins and damaged temple artwork which were recovered from different places in Halebeedu. Some of these were restored and some were in the process of being restored.
Not worth visiting this museum. Nothing to see better than the Hoysaleswa temple. Only a few parts of some ancient temples are placed in an open area and a few inside the museum building. Ticket charge : Rs5. QR code scanning is the only method to pay for the ticket.
This museum doesn't have any new sculpture than in the temple. Wooden sculpure only special here. You can ignore this museum. Entry ticket is Rs10. But you have to pay in ASI website. It is hectic process. Main temple is enough.
There is no one to explain things there. They have pretty good number of artifacts though.
What a beautiful place for some stunning sculptures ! Each carving tells so many stories. I would highly recommend taking a guide for one round and then take time to appreciate the smaller scenes that have been etched in the lower layers of this stru

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kedareshwara Temple in Halebidu, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Located just 750m away from the Halebidu Archaeological Site, this Mahadeva temple is a true hidden gem. One thing that struc
No less then 5 stars , this is one of the place you add to 100 things you do before you die. Master piece of stone art and architecture of 11th century, from a distance it looks a big temple structure but as you approach closer & closer it speaks. Th
