Overwhelmed by the beauty of this place. Located in North Guwahati, established in 1720 AD ,the Ahom king Shiva Singha had built this temple. A must visit place for the people as the ambience of this place is beyond my words.

Very nice temple to visit at North Guwahati.

It is one of the several protected archaeological sites scattered across north Guwahati, in Kamrup district of Assam. This temple, dedicated to lord Bishnu, is situated atop a hillock on the bank of the mighty Brahmaputra. To reach the temple one needs to climb 108 steps made up of ancient rock pieces. It may be a problem for old, pregnent and people of walking disabilities. This temple is currently under renovation, but it is open for visitors. You get a splendid view of the Guwahati city from this temple. You can also enjoy the sunset from here. It is easily accessible by ferries plying from the Fancy Bazar Ghat. Nearest Ferry Ghat (port) is Majgaon. You also get a view of the Saraighat bridge from this temple. Architecture of this temple is similar to the Kamakhya temple. However, it is much smaller in size than the Kamakhya temple. If you are visiting this temple, don't forget to pay visits to the DoulGovinda temple, Dirgheswari Devalay and the Manikarneswar temple which are nearby.
