Ashtamudi Villas - Resort hotel in Mathilil - Kollam, India

It's right by the lake. Nice green garden with palm trees and hammocks. All rooms have a terrace with a table and chairs. It's a very travellers friendly and chilled place. The travellers atmosphere has completely gone from Kovalam town, so it's possibly the best place to stay at the moment.

We enjoyed our stay at Ashtamudi villas to the fullest - it's a beautiful place for relaxing in the midst of a lush garden and view to the lake! Rooms and bathroom were comfortable and clean, but especially the team was great! Sanal was super helpful in organizing transportation, tours and even a birthday cake :) Thanks a lot again for everything!

The manager is very friendly and trustworthy. He organised a fantastic backwater tour on Munroe Island for me and the price was very fair, and same with the auto journey back to the station. Some hotels really like to rip people off but thankfully not here, they take care of you very well. They know just the right people to book for tours, hopefully you'll get Sudhi the auto driver as he is great! The main reason I booked Ashtamudi is that I'd heard they're good at arranging tours and that's definitely true. Beautiful setting by the lake. Non-AC room has a big fan so was very comfortable, but they also have AC rooms. Worth doing a tour of Kollam as well as the Munroe Island trip. I didn't plan to but am pleased I did as there's plenty worth seeing.

Great property at the lakeside. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is very cooperative. Just felt like you are living in your home. Approach from the main street is a bit narrow for large vehicles. Tuk tuk could be arranged by the staff at a short notice. Food could be ordered online by Zomato/ swiggy.

Everything was good. Had a great time. If u want to explore u can book scooty near kolam junction. There is nothing much to do in kolam. Except beach and light house. Don't forget to spend some time in park which is near light house.

Really nice guesthouse on the side of the river. Very helpful manager. No food is available on site but it can be ordered in. They were very helpful organising tuk tuks for us.

Good rooms. Straight view of Ashtamudi Lake. These rooms are worth for money by comparing other Lake Resorts. Clean rooms. Good service too
