Arulmigu Yoga Narasinga Perumal Thiru Kovil - Hindu temple in Narasingam, Anbu Nagar - Madurai, India

It is one of the famous perumal temples in Madurai. Located 2 km away from Otthakadai area. This locality is called as Narasingam. Mini bus service is available from MGR bus stand Madurai. The temple is just below the hills. Such a good view to witness. The main deity is yoga narasimha perumal. It has a big pond ( Thamarai kulam) where people used to touch the holy water before entering the temple. Puratasi month ( Tamil month) used to attract lots of devotees.

Narasingam Yoga Narasimha Perumal Temple is situated in Narasingam village near Y.Othakadai in Madurai. This cave temple was built by Madurakavi who worked as a minister in the court of Madurai King Parantaka Nedunjadaiyan. Main God is Yoga Narasimmar and goddess is Narasingavalli Thayar. This temple has no Kodi Maram. Usually Pradosham is celebrated grandly in Shiva temples only, but in this perumal Temple, Pradosham is grandly celebrated. Gajendra Motcham is celebrated in Temple Theppam on Maasi Pournami. Temple will be open daily between 7 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM.

Arulmigu YogaNarsdinghar Koil is located 12 kms away from Madurai in the village of Othakadai adjacent to Yanamalai. This Temple is built by Pandya king. Sri Yoga Narasimha is the Lord of this temple and Narasinghavalli Thayer is the Goddess. There is a beautiful Teppam with lotus flowers. Among the Narasimha temples, this temple has the biggest idol of Lord Narasimha. During Teipira Pradosha, Mahavishnu Narasimha took incarnation in this temple and very special poojas are performed on Teipira Pradosha day. If Narasimha Murthy is worshiped during this time, the students will excel in education. Industry and business will develop well. The influence of evil forces and the fear of death will be removed. At this time, worshiping Narasimha and Narasinghavalli's mother will remove the delay in marriage. Situated at the foot of the beautiful Anaimalai rock , 12 Kms from Madurai , this temple's sanctum actually is an ancient rock cut shrine excavated by the Pandyas in 8th Century. It has a large beautiful Yoga Narasimha Murti carved on the rock, which is said to be one of the biggest Narasimhas in Tamil Nadu. The gopuram, mantapams and the Amman temple are later additions . The temple has an historical Inscription on the wall next to the Garbhagriham doorway. Just a short walk from here , is another rock cut shrine called Ladan Koil dedicated to Murugan. Adding beauty to the Narasingam temple complex is the lotus pond at the foot of the rock .
