You need to climb the hill via stares to praise the lord Murugan. It was so crowded in the evening and for locals parking wasn't collected. It was so good visiting this temple.

This temple is one among the six veedu of the Lord Muruga. It's located on the main junction. The temple is very pleasing and has good vibes. The car parking is charged for 50rs. To refresh we can use the Royal bhavan hotel. There are steep steps but it might be less than 100 only . It's difficult to climb by the old people. It was much less crowded when I visited the temple. The ghee Deepam can be brought upstairs next to the Swami itself.

One of the six famous Murugan temples. Not many steps there but hardly 100. This is more pleasant in the morning time, no crowd in the early hours.

Nearest city will be Kumbakonam. Can get the glimpse of kaveri river while travelling towards the temple. Not many hotels available near the temple. Peaceful atmosphere.

Kumbhakonam is temple town with many beautiful temples. Swaminatha Swamy temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan. This is fourth abode of Lord Murugan of the total six abodes. The shrine of Lord Murugan is located on top of the hill whereas the shrines of Goddess Meenakshi (Parvati) and Lord Sundareshwar (Shiva) are at the bottm of the hill. The temple is very beautiful. You must give it a visit while in Kumbhakonam. If you come early morning you will be able to have good darshan.

A very ancient but sacred Hindu Temple situated in Swamimalai, on the banks of Kaveri river, near Kumbakonam of Thanjavur. As there are sixty steps to reach Sree Kovil, it may be difficult for those who cannot climb steps, but on the whole a must visit place at least one time in our life.
