Located at 50 kms from Chennai, near to Arjuna Penance, butter ball and light house at Mahabalipuram. This is one of the divyadesam for Vaishnavites (Thirukadalmallai) and a old temple currently under renovation in Aug'23, likely to have kumbabhishekam in Jan'24. The deity is in sleeping posture as name Sayana denotes. One will have to drive into Mahabalipuram town on the left when going from Chennai to Pondy on ECR.
Moolavar has been kept in balalaya(closed due to renovation), we can only have dharshan of Utsavar. Main deity will be opened for dharshan from November as per archakar. Temple was neatly maintained and they serve fresh and hot food to the needy people as part of nithya annadhan seva, which is highly appreciated Whatever, just go ahead and have dharshan of Utsava murthy, as Lords sannidhan is equally seen and felt One of the popular divya desham. Let lord bless all
I visited this temple few years back. Few days before i visited, but this temple is in palalayam (under renovation). It will take about 5 months time to see the main deity. Urchavar is kept for devotees. Beautiful Divya desam near Mahapalipuram sea.

Renovation work is in progress, better to visit after Jan'24
Temple is under renovation. One can worship only the Utsava moorthy. Moolavar is not accessible for next 6 months as per temple staff. Looks like temple facility was not maintained earlier. All the structure were badly damaged. Hope this renovation brings a good face-lift.
Very pleasant place. Though renovation going on the have a small sanctum with miniature of moolavar. Kumbabhishekam is expected between Jan and March 2023. Take the road to the right of the temple for paid parking.
Once you get down from Mahabalipuram final bus stop. You can find this temple just behind your bus. It's a very old temple. 3 days back I visited this place, it seems they are renovating the temple so the main statue is not open for devotees. Only particular place is alloted inside the temple for devotees to worship. By the end of February 2024 they will finish all the renovation works - said by the temple in-charge.
