I visited this temple today. Just as you turn off from Adyar towards Raja Annamalai Puram this temple is located on the left side. Parking is not available so it's better to use an auto to reach the temple. First on the right side is Navadurga Vinayagar, followed by entry to the temple. Amman has huge eyes and belief is she appeared as a Swayambhu. Starting from Vinayagar as you round the temple you will worship Saraswathi, Lakshmi, Durga,Dakshinamoorthy and Sapthakannis. There is a Lingam with Parvathi Devi facing Him. A huge statue of Badrakali in calm posture is seen. On the right is Navagrahas. The most unique fact of this temple is as you cross Navagrahas there are two statues to worship- Athi bhaktha nayanmar and Machamunni. Machamunni sage was slated by a demon who was brought to life by Lord Muruga. Belief is people who worship Him are devoid of Doshas. Both statues are seen in Anjali hastham. Aadi month, Navarathri are grandly celebrated here.
A small Temple and a great divine experience. Powerful Goddess.
Except parking facility everything about this temple is simply superb. Well maintained. Very famous in and around this area. During festival times. Crowd management by traffic police and the temple trust is simply amazing. Temple is located on a very important road.
The prime Deity is Swayambu (Not carved by man but has a natural origin). Therefore till date the main shine is having the thatched roof and housing upkeeping the old style never renovated as modern. Since the Deity is both the form and formless (having just the head only)- like a lotus - the Deity bears the name "Mundakam" which means lotus in Tamil.).
Very nice place for a quaint time for your spiritual needs. But there is no proper parking nearby. Very busy and crowded street
Maintenance good nice temple putlur railway station just 700m walking distance
Food not digest easly. Rs75/- for Watermelon juice is very costly.
Located in happening place. Prefer this temple for quick prayer
