Arulmigu Maha Saraswathi Amman Temple, Koothanur - Hindu temple in Kuttanur - Thiruvarur, India

A very nice and old Saraswati mandir that has importance on the 9th day of Dasara which is normally or otherwise called in Tamilnadu or South India as NAVA RAATHRI. On the 9th day the temple was crowded and archana was done to the Utsava Moorthy and Main Deity "Goddess SASASWATHI" was left only for Darshan of general public. Alankar to The main deity Goddess SASASWATHI was done so that her FEET were visible on the 9th Dasara day which is said to be the normal practice here. On other days people who are locals say there won't be much rushes. The temple is said to be some centuries old.

The deity of this place is believed to give the knowledge. Nowadays it's more crowded in all temples. Please follow the line to take the blessings of lord. Buy flowers before entering the temple. Don't buy bottled drinks instead drink tender coconut and help local farmers. Happy spiritual journey

Traditional goddess meant for children education. The temple is located interior of a street, but you can witness a huge crowd over there. The temple is very small, yet renowned.. special Pooja are there for education talented. We can buy a pen or pencil and get it blessed from the goddess Shri Saraswathi thaai..

The Saraswathi Amman temple at Koothanur is a serene place with a lot of positive energy. The place was not crowded and we were able to view the morning Abhishekam to the diety that takes place at 9.15 AM daily. We were unsure of the accomodations & therefore stayed at Myladuthurai around 25 Kms from Koothanur. Do note that there are no food outlets close to the temple.

One of the best temple i visited so far. Temple progidhar was kind enough and not in a hurry mode.Worshipped lord Saraswati peacefully and spend meaningful time . Outside shops selling stationary items are so loyal.Overall it's an unforgettable experience.
