We went through winch rope train. waiting time was about 2 hrs. So only plan if enough time to spent or physically disabled or aged. This was my first on winch. Great experience. On Temple Top wheel chair facility was available. Tickets for winch was Rs. 50 per head. Downwards we used steps.

Palani One of the devotional place in tamilnadu We planned so many to visit palani but now its happened We happily fullfilled ur mind and soul in the presence of muruga And a good devotional place in TN my recommendation is we need to keep clean the area (adi varam) and much more nearby places to develop the tourism and hygiene the city for devotees and local living people And temple provide more security and safety measures like CCTV camera and cloak room facilities very well And lots of kids are in the street and they do such sadly things and pls consider them Overall nice devotee place Calm and quiet at the top of the hill

It was totally worth the climb to the top to visit the lord velayuthan. Elephant steps are the easier option if you prefer the walk. Winch and rope car are available but may have almost always a long queue. The views are amazing when you are going up to the temple and from the top. A must visit.

Usually darshan timing will take more than 2 hrs during weekends. There is too much of a crowd on weekends and it takes more than 3hrs to get tickets for Rope car and Winch (Train). Primarily these services are provided for elderly people but we see many young people taking Train and Rope car service which is ridiculous. Temple management is the worst they don't even proactively take any necessary actions to handle the crowd.

One of my very favourite temples.. very powerful god.. very historical.. Very well maintained.. clean and neat.. well organised and regularised. Weekends and holidays are really crowded. The crowd will be little less in the afternoons. RS 100 tickets are available for special dharsan. Archanai things are available at reasonable price in the hill top itself, so no need to buy it from outside. Clean toilets... really hygienic.. purified water available.. There is a hotel near the wench station in the hills. Good and tasty food at a reasonable price. Yaanai paathai is really easier to climb than the normal steps. Water and toilets are available in many places throughout.. If you can't climb the steps, try to avoid visiting the temple when the rope car is under maintenance. Because the wench will be really crowded and you may need to wait for long hours.
