This note is long overdue but writing this for the awareness and benefit of transgender individuals who may consider Arka (Dr. Muthukumar Jeyapaul) for hormone treatment. As there are very few knowledgeable endocrinologists on transgender health in India, I was accessing hormone therapy under Dr. Muthukumar's supervision as his knowledge on the topic was commendable. For this, I used to travel from Kerala to Chennai quite often which was a strain both financially and physically for me. However, I stopped consulting him after a very dissapointing and traumatic incident. Once, my phone started ringing in his office and since it was a call from the US embassy I asked him if I could quickly answer and tell them that I will call back soon (since the call was regarding my US visa). I heard him say 'okay' and picked up the phone but he started screaming at me. I kept the phone immediately and clarified what happened but he said he did not agree to my request. I apologized thinking maybe I misheard him saying 'okay' but he still kept shouting and speaking rudely to me. He kept addressing me in my dead name after I repeatedly told him what my name is (Something he should have known after 2 years of consulting a patient!). When I told him I have been on fasting since 12 hours and was tired (I usually have breakfast after a blood test at the clinic at every visit, but this time they delayed by blood test hence I couldn't have breakfast), his response was 'so what should I do?' In my experience, what Dr. Muthukumar lacks is compassion and the ability to treat his patients with respect and courtesy. Not sure if training/education from any medical council can give him this but as a doctor whose aim is to help people (for which he gets paid quite well also), best he puts some effort to develop these traits. Not expecting any response/action from the clinic as I addressed the above with him directly and he did not seem to care after which I informed him that I will not be consulting with him anymore!

Dr. Ammaiappan sir is really God for me... He is very kind human and takes time with patient to help their health issues...He saves so many people life's during pandemic covid time..I am also one amongst people in that...he helped me a lot during covid in spite of I had major health issues he treated me and saves my life...I am ever thankful to him during my lifetime because of him i am alive... Actually He is specialist in understand and identify root cause of health issue. Feeling blessed to know him as our doctor..

By seeing the advertisement i went for a consultation. There is no hormone treatment as they promote. Just for consultation they charged 1400 plus other tests. They should have told about the fees at the beginning. Normally consultation fees are taken before seeing the doctor. Here they delayed it to end. So we won't be able to step back. It is not genuine

I don't have the habit of writing reviews but this experience pushed me do one.I had an appointment with ARKA hospital with Dr. Muthukumaran. I had requested for online consultation since I'm not in a situation to go in person. I joined the call through WhatsApp and unfortunately there was some noise disturbance from my side so I requested him to wait just for few sec and just turned my head to ask someone to take care of it. To my surprise he had disconnected the call and when I tried calling back he again disconnected then picked up after 2nd attempt and said," you should value our time , it's you who have to wait for us, we don't have to wait for you".. while I agree with the part of valuing one's time but the second part was rude and disrespectful. I've heard of doctors talking in this manner but never believed until i experienced this. I accept that I should have avoided the issue but I wasn't expecting that to happen and I apologise for the same. But please make sure to respond with respect to patients, after all you are not spending your valuable time for free. Don't know when few doctors get this head weight may be after getting a little fame.

Doctor Muthukumaran seemed to work under some kind of compulsion or on his own terms rather understanding patient's problems. He seemed to get very disappointed on postponement of appointment even for genuine reason started lecturing on discipline rather giving sensible answers. Discipline... while you hear abusive shouts in his Clinic :-)

Hospital staffs always least bothered about the patients. They never respond for emergency request. Believe me, we called more than ten times for emergency catch up. Every time, they made some stories and connected us end of the day. They talk rude when collecting samples. Reception guys not followed Covid-19 formalities.

My 700 rs govinda..no proper consultation.Dr.Bharath he didn't took a proper consultation. A hormonal spl clinic saying weight has increased only due to life style. All hope goes.. With a period of 4 months weight increased by 20bkg due to eating..So Judgemental. Total waste of time and money.A doc should try to understand d mind which a patient goes rather than making fun of them. We don't have medical degrees it doesn't mean that the patients who are coming there are uneducated.

Appointment timings are not managed properly and we were made to wait for one hour. For 6.30 appointment for pulmonology, we were called in at 7.30pm after constant reminders. Coming for the first time and so far experience is bad. Infra is good but systems are not.
