Archaeological Museum Kalibangan - Museum in 45 Ssw - Hanumangarh, India

All the Indus Valley Civilization sites in India are not in tourist circuits / routes. One such Early Harappan and Mature Harappan site of Kalibangan is in Hanumangarh District of Rajasthan. It is a must visit place if you are in the area. Besides visiting the beautiful and informative ASI Museum, one could also visit actual excavation site. However, there is nothng much to see on the site as all critical areas have reportedly been covered again for preservation. It would be better to buy tickets scanning QR code at the Museum instead of buying in advance from ASI website which may not function correctly at times. All the terra cota shards seen scattered over entire area in the photos are suupposed to be from Harappan Era!

This could have been a better place. The inside of the museum is very good and well maintained however the place outside where the actual expedition was done and hidden colonies were found are neither managed well nor available for common people to view. Hence, I felt bad... You travel a good long distance from jaipur to view it, but not that great experience of something which is of great value for the nation.

Amazing collection of pre Harappan and Harappan era. Very enjoyable even for school children learning history. There is nothing to see at the actual excavation site.. no information, no structural remains. Nothing to see. The museum is very good. A lot of information and well maintained displays.

Nice palace ... You visite at this palace sunday ,monday , Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday not only Saturday....

Quite interesting site to visit to experience the history of our ancestors.

So amazing to see things of 5000 years old..

Just a very simple archeological site containing clay scripture of Harappa. Just take 5 min to entirely see the museum. Do Not visit specially this spot, already on the way of pilli banga to rawatsar you can stay and visit.
