Hidden nature park close to gandhinagar. Excellent place for a day picnic. The park has a small pond, picturesque bridge and a butterfly park. Currently is closer to wilderness than a well maintained and curated park, but sections of it are being developed into a garden. Must visit if you are a nature lover.
Aranya means forest..if you are a nature lover..then Aranya Udyan is a must visit. You will love the sounds of the birds in the serene environment. You will love to see rings in the calm water of the lake. You can see ducks swimming in the lake. You can see various birds and monkeys.
There is a small lake also in the park. And bridge also you can move to one end to other. Place that takes you to the Nature Enjoy greenery while walking through the ecological park. Meet beautiful butterflies at the butterfly garden. If you are lucky enough you might find some beautiful birds also. But you can not visit alone because there is no one at van so please take someone with you. You can carry food also and enjoy family picnic i side the exological park. Entry opens 9.00 AM and closes at 5.00 PMAwesome place for a one day picnic, hike or trek with friends/family. Managed by Gujarat Forest department. Butterfly park for children. Good facility for washroom and drinking water. Bring your food with you. No eateries available inside the park. You may come across many animals/birds like nilgai, peacocks, peahen and monkeys inside the Nature park. Added attraction is the pond. Shall see lots of birds flocking the pond on an early morning hike in winters. Ticket: Rs10 per person. Two wheeler 10 rs and 20 rs 4 wheeler Camera not allowed. You may take photographs with mobile.

At this time it is not much explorable because it is in development. But from outer coverage i can see it clearly that it is best for animals and rare species to live and grow there. It is best place to grow rare species and those species having low population. So i am waiting for see it from inner coverage also when it's development is complete. The 208,50 ha of afforested area of INP on the eastern bank of the river Sabarmati is also known as Aranya Udhyan. GEER Foundation took large-scale plantations along with soil and moisture conservation as a part of ravine reclamation. This area of the park is being developed as a wilderness park to provide unique opportunity to experience the wilderness in the vicinity of the city life. The area has become natural habitat to large number of tree species, herbs, shrubs, grasses, mammals and considerably large number of birds.. For this purpose nature trails have been created in the park. Also, the information signages on the vegetation occurring in the area are being planned, which may enhance the knowledge of the visitors. Natural Butterfly Park is planned and being developed to understand the butterflies of this area and observe them in natural conditions. Large enclosures for herbivorous animals are also being planned and under development
This park not less than any dense forest. So neat and clean and a raw looking park. You can spot variety of birds, small reptiles, lizards, butterflies, plants and flowers. Definitely it's a great feeling to visit this place very often. Great for young children to learn something about nature. If you want to meditate amidst sounds of nature, this is the place. Only disappointment is cameras are not allowed here (can't guess the reason). And the entry fee is nominal, just Rs10 per head.
