Aranya Nivas (OTDC) - Hotel in Chandbali, Simulia - Bhadrak, India

Worth spending money here... The rooms were worth the money. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner all inclusive within the package. The rooms were neat and clean and spacious with an extra foldable single bed, pillows, blankets... Food was with less oil homecooked kind of food.

Located just beside Baitarani river..rooms are clean, spacious..food is also good..has a in-house restaurant..staffs are very polite ..and it's the entry point to Bhitarkanika

Calm and cool place you can visit to stay here.

Good service and believe me... The breakfast preparation is very fast and the staff are well behaved and good. Good spacious rooms for night stay. And nice river view balcony. The best thing is that they will prepare any dish in short time so that we are doing things on time. Recommended for staying if you want to go to Bhitarkanika sanctuary.

Here is my honest review on OTDC (Aranyanibas Chandabali). I visited there on 29-Dec-21 with 4 members of my family. Rooms. 1. Rooms were big enough but were not clean as expected. 2. Bathrooms were not cleaned before handing over to us. 3. Rooms had considerble number of big mosquitoes waiting to welcome you (pls look at the images). 4. There were seepages all around the room and they were unhigenic (see the images). 5. The room AC was working like a fan, there were no differances felt with increase or decrease in temperature. 6. If you are in ground floor room no, 121, 122, 123 you can easily locate empty liquor bottles in the back yard on the park side. Service and Food: 1. The staff are cunning and they put you in the worst rooms as soon as they senee they won't make money from you on top of room tariff. 2. Their service discriminates based on whether you are a govt official, VIP or a common citizen, it is NOT based on the type of room (AC/non-AC) you have booked. It is my personal experience. 3. Complementary breakfast is actually NOT actually complementary as per staff. They tried to charge me using a bill for breakfast saying you consumed more than we prepared and were charging separately for my 6 year old kid. When I asked them explain what is complimentary, a staff member namely Pratap offered to waive-off the bill immediately. 4. Food taste is average, not great. If you are foody and like non-veg food consider paying a visit to Hotel Ambika which is just stones throw away from OTDG Guest house. Trust me, the food tastes awesome there and the staff are good. 5. The room AC was working like a fan, there were no differances felt with increase or decrease in temperature. 6. Most Important Advice: NEVER MAKE THE MISTAKE TO BOOK A BITARAKANIKA BOAT FROM OTDC STAFFS. They told me the cost is Rs. 7350 for 4-6 hours. They will say Govt. boats are prebooked and get you a private one and keep half of the money in their pocket. The private boats will be easily available at Rs. 4,000 for 6 hours which can accommodate upto 18 members. The vendors are available outside the OTDC gate or phone numbers are available in Facebook pages too to pre-book. Weekends and long weekends are usually tight and may need to prebook a boat.

Ok Ok place to stay. The drawback of this place is they are charging Rs. 450 for stay of drivers which is quite a high prize. Generally hotels give a bed to the drivers of the guests. Those who are looking for boat for bhitarkanika it is advised not to ask the manager of the hotel as he is charging Rs.5000. One can easily get a ride for Rs. 3000 per boat. (boat have capacity for 8 people can share the amount). Food is not that good also it is quite costly. just 100/200 meters from the hotel is a local eatery, it is very good and very reasonable.

It's a place for stay for as short as possible. Staff and facilities are not up to mark in comparison with other OTDC panthanivas. Food cost is lower in comparison with other otdc but food preparation quality are also not consistent like other otdc panthanivas. Chicken pieces were small and mostly boney. Veg preparations were also not as good as other panthonivas. Room ac was not working properly water was dropping from a indoor unit and upon complaining all they did was to cut the external pipe in veranda which caused water to accumulate in veranda and provided an pail inside room for collecting water dropping from ac. We stayed there for 2 days as a stopover while returning from Chilika. Manager is well informed and well behaved.other wise i would have given 2 stars .

Nice spacious luxury rooms. Very courteous staffs, especially manager, Govind. Really impressed by their service. Enjoyed the stay here. Food also at reasonable price. Would like to visit again.
