Very good place to stay in Periyar tiger reserve enjoying the wilderness and sounds of forest. Maintained very well and washroom were clean. It is a pricey option compared to Periyar house. Food was served as buffet. An excellent choice to stay in PTR if you are really into love to forest enjoying the comfortable stay with an easy access to boat house and boking point.
It's a great place if you are a nature lover and wants some peaceful time. Tariff on a costlier side, however considering the location (very close to boat landing in Thekkadi) it's justifiable. Also you don't need worry about boat bookings.
Stayed here for 2 days. Rooms are spacious, clean and neat. Food is just OK. Laundry service is available. Courteous and helpful staff. Awesome ambience. Right infront of Thekkady boat landing. Recommended for families and nature lovers.
The room was pretty good and well-equipped with all the amenities. Kudos to the KTDC department for setting up this beautiful property and manaing it seamlessly. Honestly, it surpassed our expectations. The food, too, was good. Lunch comprised of ala carte, items of which could be ordered from the fixed menu. Dinner was a buffet. Loved the ambience of this property that's situated amidst a thick foliage. A highky recommended property in case you're planning for a stay in Thekkeddy.
It was an awesome experience. You have to enter the checkpost before 5.30 PM. It was was moderate reception. The checkin was smooth. The rooms were very spacious neat clean and very well maintained. The facility have a swimming pool, Had some good time spent in the pool. It is an awesome place to spend time with a Family or friends. Since it is a reserved forest area you will not be allowed to roam around after 6.30. You can see animals like Sambar Deer and Porcupine visiting sometimes. Since you cannot go out after 6.30. You will have to have your Dinner and Breakfast only in the resorts. The only area that I see they can improve a lot was their quality of food. It was horrible, the rotisserie were hard , breads were over toasted. The fish they serve was Dam Fish and it was horribly hard and over burnt. Other than that I enjoyed the stay in this resort.
Excellent stay in the middle of the forest to experience the wildness and calmness of Periyar national park. We had stayed at their jungle view rooms - with a huge glass window that opened to a view of the forest - and we could spot a lot of animals including Nilgiri langurs, Indian giant squirrels and a variety of birds from within our room itself. 50 metres from the hotel is where the boating in the lake starts. When we had stayed at the hotel, large groups of elephants and gaurs were grazing on the opposite bank of the lake for a few hours and we got some amazing clicks. The place also has a cozy small library with a lot of old books, as well as recreational activities like badminton, TT etc. - all of which are well maintained.
Peaceful stay in the midst of nature surrounded by periyar reservoir and forest. Restaurant is available and provide good service. Food is not wide spread but a descent buffet. Evening we can order tea and snacks. Rooms are good and neat clean bathroom. The good thing is that thekkady boating starts near from Aranya Nivas. We can get boat tickets from reception on request. Night you can see deer and few animals around the hotel. Lots of monkeys around the building and so please close car/room windows. Evening 6.30 PM adjacent to reception there is a tv room where a documentary of periyar will be played. Please contact reception in case you need to watch any other time slot. Its a good informative video. Indoor games liek carroms, billiards, thread mill and TT are avilable. Outdoor badminton court and cycling (on demand) is available.
Being a premium hotel, very Quiet and can spot some animals. you can enjoy the wilderness of the nature. But the room smelled pungent. Staff are not friendly. behaved rude. Out of KTDC hotels i have visited, this one is the worst in terms of quality. Only positive things is it's very near to Thekkady Boat landing area.
