Arabhavi Math - Hindu temple in Arabhavi - Belagavi, India

Also known as Durdundeshwar math, it's a very ancient temple and adjacent to this temple there is Kottur Basavanna temple. The two giants seen in pics are believed to be the follower of Lord Durdundeshwar and thy both built the temple in one night. Since then couldn't finish it whole, that's when the place got its name as arabhavi math (ara means half) . There are few steps at the entrance which are difficult for aged people. There are two entrance, one can use the other entrance to avoid scaling stairs. There is small cowshed . It's very vast temple. 2 or 4 wheeler parking spaceis there. There are few flower stalls too. The way to the well (bhavi) is prohibited. It's the place where the Durdundeshwar swamiji buried themselves alive(jeevanth samadhi) . The wall paintings around the temple tell all the great deeds of swamiji. Do visit the temple and feel blessed .

Duradundeshwar Math also known by Arabhavi Math is located in Arabhavi which is 10 kms from Gokak. This is one of the most popular spiritual destination in the district having a history of more than a 100 years old. The architecture of this is extraordinary with the famous Arabhavi stone used in the pillars and gives it an incredible look. Adjoining to the Math is Kotur Basaveshwar temple. Tourists come here in huge numbers on daily basis and especially during the weekends, during the amavasyas and Jathra, hundreds of people gather here to participate in the rituals and witness the celebrations.

Shri Duradundeshwara Matha is a Shaivite center located in Arabhavi near Gokak in Belagavi district. The matha is built in a red sandstone and has a colossal stone structure with massive pillars and sloped roof projections. Very Devotional place and Once you visit you can feel the peace
