Antaragange Cave And Water - Featured Reviews (1811)
Antharagange cave and water used to be a free trekking spot but now requires registration on the government portal, along with a fee of 303 rupees per person. The trek starts off moderately challenging and gradually ascends, making it relatively easier compared to Savandurga. Wearing proper shoes and carrying enough water is essential. While prices at the top might be a bit higher, it's not as expensive as other places. A local guide will take you through two caves. The first cave involves a simple climb, but the second requires crawling through tight spaces, which may not be suitable for claustrophobic individuals. Afterward, there's a rock that you can climb for great photo opportunities, although it can be slightly risky. Be cautious, as the area is filled with rocks, and accidents can lead to serious injuries. The descent is much easier than the ascent. The guide may ask for a tip, though he's already being paid, so a nominal fee is sufficient. Overall, it's a great place for a day trip, with well-maintained routes leading to the area.
A small and good trek and view point. There are also 2 caves here which is a bit difficult to explore and also to find the way if you're going alone. We went behind people who had hired local guides and could easily find the way. But I don't think there is a requirement for a guide but do not take risks if you're alone. Within the caves its very cool and calm to relax. We reached here after sunset but it looked like the sunset view would have been good. We couldn't find any peak though.
This is a thrilling and super experience. It is recommended that you wear grip shoes when climbing rocks. You can feel the fresh air and the atmosphere. Please ensure that you arrive earlier (before 8am). We can spend at least 4 hours. Caves are hard to spot the first time. So you might need a local guide.
Antara Gange (also known as Anthargange) is a mountain situated in the Shathashrunga mountain range in the southeastern portion of the Indian state of Karnataka, Kolar district. Antara Gange literally means "Ganges from deep" in Kannada. It is about two miles from the town of Kolar and seventy kilometers from Bangalore. Antara Gange is famous for Sri Kashi Vishweshwara temple, also known as Kashi of South. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the temple is a pond which gets a continuous flow of underground water from the mouth of a Basava (stone bull). It is believed that drinking water from the pond cleanse one from many diseases. Way to Antar Gange caves is a steep and narrow path behind the temple to top of the mountain. The caves are 3-4 km from the temple. The mountain consists of granite rocks and lot of caves around. Trekking in and around caves is popular here. It's important to note that cave exploration in the Antargange region should be conducted with the assistance of a knowledgeable guide and prior permission from the forest department. This precaution not only ensures safety but also helps in preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of the area.
Short hike to the caves, exploring them was super fun! Guide recommended and also, start early on in the day so that harsh sun does not bother you. Great experience overall
Trek is very easy . Anyone can do it. The only thing is climbing to that caves. To go inside the caves you need to be fit. And you can't go without any guide because you may get lost. Sometimes the guide would be lazy and ask you to go alone but please don't go without guide . You will definitely get lost or you may not see the caves . Those two caves are the best thing in that trek. parking facility is available . And you need to book before you go there. The booking will be close for that day at 9AM so you need to book before online through karnataka eco tourism page. For weekday the amount is 250 and for weekend 500. Don't get cheated by any commercialised trek companies from Bangalore and on your own to save money
Great place for adventure trek in caves. Make sure to register online for trekking and don't litter the place. Forest department need to be more vigilant in plastic litter made and take proper action on thism
Went on a weekend early morning to witness this stunning view from the top! They say you get the best view when you go to the top and it was true. Bike lovers, you'll love the 2km uphill and downhill drive, it'll be challenging with the bends, the hairpin bends were too many and it was too steep in few areas. There's one spot where you can stop your bike and click pics and get a full view of the city. The road was not that great in few places and you've to be careful because of the stones and holes. You go to the top and there'll be a guide to take you to the rocks, but, they'll rush you to start from there to take to the caves, once you come back from caves, try spending some time on the rocks, such a peaceful place to relax!
