Located at the final descent of ISKCON temple. Offers vegetarian food. I have been visiting ISKCON for over 4 years, but never once it crossed my foodie mind to visit this eatery. I used to be so overwhelmed by ISKCON khichdi that I used to walk by this place in a daze, like it did not exist. But after getting too familiar with ISKCON atmosphere and Khichdi, I felt like I should at least visit this place and see what the fuss is. I have been here twice now and here are my thoughts. I had Puri Sagu the both times and both times, it was equally tasty. The taste did not differ. My 4 stars are solely for the taste and consistency. It will be too much to expect clean plating from such a public eatery, won't it? So, I ignored chutney thrown haphazardly, sagu falling out of the plate and many other things that would have irked me otherwise. The food was hot and tasty & the important thing is, I did not have any issues from it afterwards. There are many regular options like Masala Dosa, Rava Dosa, Idli and other fancy options like Paneer Masala Dosa, Methi Puri etc. I can't speak for the taste of any of these dishes as I personally did not taste them, but the people seemed to enjoy them, so go nuts! This place really could do with much better cleanliness. Although they have people for clearing plates etc, the floor is dirty and sticky and it was the same the both times I visited. Since I was coming barefoot from temple and footwear stand was another 100 steps away, I went in barefoot the first time and that was my biggest mistake. Grimy lesson learned. People cooking food wear hairnets alright, but they cough and sneeze without covering their mouth, right where they are preparing food. It was an unpleasant sight, enough to make you lose your appetite. I think it is fair to expect basic standards of cleanliness and hygeine from any eatery, be it cheap or expensive. They serve 'Vedic Coffee' and I still don't know what it is. I am definitely going to try it the next time, with my footwear on and my hygeine sense off.
Ordered Vedic coffee and couldn't finish it,can't describe how strange the taste was though Vedic means all those herbs but it was not good. Masala dosa was okay. Limited menu but nice taste.
Tasty and hygienic food to feast upon. It is a delight to have food here, but we couldn't since we had our lunch and then visited the temple, so we just took Vedic coffee, Badam milk, so I can't tell much about the dishes they serve here.
For the price of the food. This is just way too good! The food is very tasty and is completely saathvik. It's free of even onion and garlic! Definitely recommend this to everyone. It's self service and you get a full meal for about 100 rupees!
Ok. Basic and just ok. We had to wait for 5 min for the table to be cleaned. The cleaning lady was somewhere and others were just looking. It is self service restaurant. We were 5 and ordered 5 masala dosas which were Rs.55 each. The price seemed reasonable. But the portion was surprisingly less (pls see the pic below). The plates were not wiped properly. They put food in wet plates. The dosa was wet on the backside because of the wet plate. The sambar too was cold and coconut chutney was below par. The location inside the temple complex is a blessing for the owners. So if some improvements are made the place has a great potential.
The restaurant within ISKCON is priced same as much as outside restaurants. Me and my friend tried Panneer Masala Dosa and Davangere Benne Dosa, which was stomach filling but the taste was not that exceptional. Would recommend the cold badami milk priced Rs40/-. The orders are self served here.
Restaurant located inside ISKON premises (@ right side while you approach the temple near pond) Limited menu for breakfast at reasonable price with decent taste. Vedic coffee - taste is not good and I guess many people would be surprised about this coffee's strange taste.
The food was just okay, we asked the table cleaning service lady to clean the table, but the service lady's behaviour was very rude, she started to shout and throw the water, We were surprised management is just watching this without any action, mostly don't prefer any hotels under ashram or temple management they are very rude with customers
