Phenomenal experience. Little smaller than coimbatore nehru stadium though. But having 6 wooden courts and huge walking and parking spaces. Filled with trees. Peaceful and blissful. Tracks are a little rough. Otherwise, it's a great place for fitness lovers

Excellent place in Trichy for a calm and quiet run. We enjoy coming here. It's very safe as we come early morning. Lights are there and the pavement is also neat.

You can always see someone exercising there except when it's too sunny... This place is good to the locals for jogging, walking, etc... The greengrocers will also be near to the stadium... But there's no frequent bus service to the stadium so it's better to reach TVS tollgate bus stop and have a walk
The stadium was built by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu in 1970 at a cost of Rs3 crore (equivalent to Rs147 crore or US$18 million in 2023)[2][5] funded by the state government. The synthetic turf imported from Netherlands, was laid in two weeks by a professional from England.[5] In 2011, construction of a new multi-purpose stadium at a cost of Rs1.77 crore (US$220,000) was started.[5] In 2015, improvements to the indoor stadium, with wooden flooring were made. A new eight-lane synthetic athletic track, volleyball court, floodlights for the facilities and a new girls hostel were also installed. The total cost of the expansion was Rs12 crore (US$1.5 million). With this, Trichy became the fourth city in Tamil Nadu after Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai to have such facility for athletics.[6]
