Andaloor Sri Daivatthar Thazhe Kavu - Hindu temple in Palayad - Kannur, India

Fantastic location with amazing history!

Very powerful kavu, it's part of andaloor kavu. The vegitation and nature will provide a different vibe altogether. It's a must visit place in thalasherry. The yearly andaloor kavu festival is very famous and attracts crowd from far and wide.

There is also a story that once Sree Narayana Guru refuse the visit of Thazhe kavu the reason he told that there was a Maha Samadhi of a saint and he will not put his foot in that sacred place. The Thaze Kavu is a sacred grove which harbors several rare plants species typical of the Myristica swamps, notably Syzygium travancoricum, an endangered endemic plant. Much of the flora of the sacred grove has been lost due to poor regeneration and the disturbance from cattle and human activity in this thickly populated area.
