Ancient castle, Sap - Historical landmark in Sap - Satara, India

Visiting Ancient Castle Sap was like stepping into a time portal that transported me to a bygone era. The castle itself is a remarkably preserved architectural gem, evoking a sense of wonder and imagination. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the village people who enhanced my experience with their in-depth historical insights. A very memorable experience and a great place to visit

Well preserved, beautiful fortress from 17th century. Probably the only one of it's kind in Maharashtra. Open land within the fort, along with a "Baori"(huge water well) and wooden building structure along with masonry work and orchard.

We were not allowed to shoot inside by a group of people who were shooting for a serial/movie at that location. However, the Sap Fort is very well maintained and is in an excellent condition still.

This place is 6-7 km from Rahimatpur, satara dist in a village name 'Sap'.

This small fort is surprisingly still in good condition. Inside rooms and some artefacts lying in and around are interesting. You can descend into a huge well behind the fort. There is a mango orchard inside the fort.

Sap forte is amazing and have a underground road up to inside the Aundh fort situated about 25 kilometers away
