Anamika Girls Hostel - Girl's Hostel in Guwahati - Kamrup Metro, India

Agh is a very good hostel.Staying at AGH Hostel feels like home.Uncle Aunty Warden and Kitchen Stuff are also very good and very helpfull.I've been here for 3 years and I've never had a problem with anything.the environment is very nice.Water facility is provided 24/7, there is no problem with electricity and any other thing.I have very good memories in Agh.I learned a lot by staying in this hostel.I miss those days when I used to stay in AGH. There no probelm with anything. This hostel is very hygienic.

Food-2/10 Room-6/10 Water supply- 8/10, Electricity supply- 7/10. Safety- 6/10 And lastly, the manners of landowners- 0/10 The owner is Racist! The owner even made a comment shamelessly about the dresses of girls (one of my friends). After misbehaving with us , he is posting my room photos . The owner used to come in our rooms uninformed saying he wants to see if we are studying. It used to be uncomfortable. The cook were so bad a cooking we had to order food almost everyday. Most worst pg of that area.

Here I Priyanka Daimary, who is currently a boarder in Anamika Girls Hostel, am writing this in reply to a previous comment from Jasmine Basumatary. With a very negative outlook for the Hostel, especially coming from someone who did not even stay at the Hostel, she has used the term, "Racist" for the landowners. I personally find that it is none other than an act of defamation for the hostel. I've been staying at the hostel for more than a year and never for a single instance have I faced any kind of discrimination, let alone the act of racism against me. It is absurd and totally unethical to defame someone based on hearsay. Comments should come from people who have already experienced the part. As the commenter never even did stay at the hostel, I believe she has no right to comment so pessimistically.

Food 5/10 -- as mentioned in the rules and regulations copy that all the seasonal vegetables will be available but most of the time we've seen is potato Room facility --3/10 I've given this 3 points because of the furniture and electricity facilities As I'm staying in the partioned room that's why it's so noisy and it Disturbs even if someone talks in the nearby room or hangs out with friends while you studying basically the partioned rooms are not for students (still I chose this because they said there will be no disturbance)and yeah the mosquito problem I know it's everywhere but since our room is not fully covered even if we use coil and machines too it doesn't work and we have to study like that whole night even during day time And as owner have said there are some moquito net provided in door and windows those are not functional and even if we use someone else just pass by the door and left it open even they don't close the door properly And in the ground floor region there are only 3 bathrooms for 20 borderes we have to wait even if your bladder is full of urine Security --8/10 Water facility 7/10 And one more thing choose wisely before you make a dicision because as per agreement you can't leave hostel within a year otherwise you have to pay the seat rent Even if you don't want to stay you have to And not everyone is capable of paying such a huge amount without staying there That's why you have to live like being in a jail

(2012-15) A truly "Home away from Home" experience. The care and hospitality provided here is unmatched with other hostels. The study environment is really good. Hygeinic atmosphere..rooms are compact but with a little adjustment everything goes easy.The picnics, festivals, freshers and farewell functions gave us the ample diversion and enjoyment we needed out of our busy schedule.

I stayed here for just one nd a half months but I would always cherish those wonderful memories and days during my stay. It has a homely environment which we need for our focused studying period. Plus safe, secured and hygienic surroundings. I would always be grateful for that extra love, care and understanding which I got from Uncle and Aunty cause I need to travel long distance to college.

I have stayed in this hostel for 2 years during my Graduation years. Having lived in other hostel before I must admit this hostel is one of the good hostels in Ghy. Safe, secured and hygiene. Most importantly good environment for studies. The management is helpful. Yes, the hostel has their own set of rules just like any other hostel does but if you there to study rules should not bother you.

I shall always cherish the memories of this hostel. Despite certain infrastructural shortcomings which Uncle and Aunty tried best to overcome (they are always getting better with time), this hostel gave me the ample opportunity to pursue my higher education studies from Cotton College. Not only the environment was serene enough to get engrossed in studies without disturbances, I shall always remain thankful to Uncle for dropping me and my friends to entrance examination centres (which I thankfully cracked in JNU). So the owners not only shared a professional but also personal relationship with us, encouraging us to do better in life and career. I owe a part of my academic success to this hostel.
