Anakulam Tourism - Tourist attraction in Mankulam, Anakulam - Idukki, India

This place was amazing, must visit. You probably won't get to see wild elephants from this close anywhere else. The elephants predictably come to have a drink and bath and play in the shallow water at around 5pm everyday (that what we were told and it was pretty accurate). It's said that there is something in the water here that attract the elephants to come and everyday.

If you are lucky you can see elephants at close distance. For wildlife enthusiasts this is a must visit place. Elephants spend good amount of time here, and you can watch them from safe distance. Awesome experience, 20+ elephants on 05/12/2023. They arrived at 6pm. We did a jeep tour from 10:30am visiting several places before arriving to Anakulak at around 4pm. Price for 2 people = 5.000 IRP.

Awesome experience to watch a herd of elephants climbing down the forest to drink water. We caught 5 of them. You have to really wait patiently for them, because they come obviously when they want to drink water. If interested, ask your hotel owner (or jeep driver if you take safari) to inform you when the elephants are spotted. They coordinate very well to pass the info.

This place is really good as group of elephants come to drink water in one particular place it was a great experience as I had never seen group of elephants like this every time most of the elephant come at around 5pm evening but when I went they had come at around 2pm.

It's a great place. We can usually see elephants coming to drink water in the evening. Unfortunately, we couldn't witness it today due to the rainy weather. However, the surroundings are green and we can still enjoy playing in the water. We relished the climate and natural beauty. I highly recommend spending time here in the evening with a cup of tea from the nearest stall

A beautiful tourist destination in Kerala Here elephants come to drink water we can see them in a safe distance But in my recommendation people are planning to visit here trying to stay one day because I'm not sure about seeing the elephants. I came there by evening at 4.30 pm and waited there for almost 2 hours but i couldn't see them. In the rainy season the possibility of elephants coming to drink water is less trying to visit also in sunny days
