Amritara Riverside Luxury Tents - Resort hotel in Thattekad - Ernakulam, India

We loved this place. Location is really quiet and attractive. Lots of bird life in the grounds. Not many places where you can watch Brown Fish Owl with your morning tea. The food was delicious and varied. Every lunch and dinner was excellent. Very friendly and helpful team made our stay a delight.

A wonderful place to stay if you need a break from the cities. Quiet location, except for the numerous birds. It's worth just sitting and listening as the sun sets and waking early for the dawn chorus. The staff were attentive and the food plentiful and tasty. The glamping tents are luxurious and well equipped with everything we needed. The locality offers short walks and cycle rides through rubber plantations and rural areas with the main bird reserve on the other side of the river.

Very nice place. Great food, great view, very nice rooms and really good service. There is a good presence of birds in the area itself making it easy to find a wide variety of the birds available without much travelling. Overall i had a very positive experience. I would recommend going to this place for bird watchers and nature enjoyers.

The tent itself was better than expected but the acoustic insulation is very poor. There was a group of young men partying and playing music until late night outside of the neighbouring tent. I would have expected it to be shut down by the management. Otherwise breakfast was very good and location also very nice. In the end don't forget to bring some earplugs just in case.

Beautiful location, next to a river, surrounded by birds in the trees. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - even helping us make contact with the naturalist guide that had been organised externally. Food delicious and plentiful. Would love to return. Fiona & Paul, UK

Our stay at Hornbill Camp has been an absolute highlight of our trip to Kerala. The setting is beautiful- incredibly peaceful, and the "tents" feel much more like lodges, with sliding glass doors and lovely furnishings. Perhaps what made our stay most special was the wonderful staff, who could not have done more to make our stay perfect - planning activities, educating us on the local wildlife, impromptu bird watching at night, entertaining, and so on. They were simply delightful and we will miss them! The food was also delicious and the team were excellent at catering to my severe nut allergy, which was hugely appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hornbill Camp to anyone visiting Kerala, and can't wait to encourage friends to visit! My only disappointment is that we didn't book to stay longer, but we will definitely return one day! THANK YOU SURESH AND TEAM :)

I was very happy that I came here. The staff is so friendly and willing to help out with everything. Vishaak (hope I spellen it correctly) even joined me for a long walk in the area. Bikes, coffee and tea are all without charging. Tents are awesome, even have airco. Food is yummy. But most off all is the great team. I hope to come back one day.

This was a very unique stay with the tent housing and very hospitable staff. Suresh, the local manager was very helpful, passionate, and knowledgeable about the camp and the area activities. The food was great and served at accommodating times. We came during an off season so missed some activities; but we enjoyed our stay very much.
