Ammayi's Veetil Oonu - Restaurant in Changanassery - Kottayam, India

Beside the Changanassery bypass road and near Mythri Nagar, Perunna, there is a small hotel called Ammayi's Veettil Oonu. From 11.30 pm to 3pm, we will get lunch from there. The standard lunch consists of white rice or brown rice with sambar, pulissery, aviyal, meen curry, podi meen peera vattichathu and pickle at a reasonable rate. Special fish fry Ayila, Netholi are served directly from the tawa. So they are very tasty and best value for money. Choora curry is also very tasty. Chicken and Beef dishes are also available. Separate room is provided for families. The suppliers are very cooperative. The suppliers, cooks and cashier are all ladies. We can see the kitchen and they preparing food from the entrance itself. Those who enjoy to have lunch in a middle class homely atmosphere, can try this place. Most of the hotels / veettil oonu run by ladies all over Kerala has two deficiencies; lack of coordination and neatness. But here there is no such a deficiency. Each lady is allocated with her area of operation and they support each other. There is enough space for parking cars. There is a pole mounted electric vehicle charging station provided by the KSEB near this hotel. So those who travel by electric scooter can charge their vehicle while having lunch. In the evening, tea / coffee and homely snacks are available in front of the hotel, which are prepared by an old man.

We went up here for lunch. They serve delicious meals here. The curries that came with the meals were all pretty tasty. Bought fried Indian mackerel and Barramundi with lunch and it was delicious too.

Not recommending. This place providing normal homely meals. The rate of normal meal is Rs 70.I think it is not worth. Customer service is good. But rate is high

A good rice and curries. They were very consious to looking after the customers. If you order any item, they were supplied within no time. The taste of all the curries including fish were excellant.

It was good at the beginning. Now the side dishes are repeating and quality has come down. Meals is good here. Fish fry is expensive. Also the fish curry can smell like chemical. Fish selection is bad. Need to add different items in curries. Vegetable items are good. Cleanliness is also good. The worker chechies here are really helpful than the owner. Ammayi can do better. Hope someone else can also suggest a change to her too.
