I see almost all varieties of mutton dishes on the menu over there... You have a lot to choose from. Mutton chukka was very delicious however quantity was very less... All the dishes which we ordered were good in taste expect Kari dosa... Liked their service..we went around closing time but still they took order & served with smile face... Car parking available... There are few branches, we had at Maatuthavani bus stand where you will have ample parking space... Overall a good experience and I would recommend all foodies to try this place if you are visiting Madurai...

We are from Malaysia, came to Madurai for sightseeing and offcouse the food. And the food here in Amma Mess is tasty, its unrivalled. The non veg was so good. Saturday and Sundays are packed, if we go early before 1230, then you can the place to sit. Parking seems busy, but if you're cmg by a driver, the no issues. 5 star for food.

Authentic flavour for the dish was delivered without any doubt. Kollaorundai was just okay not up to the expectation. You can try different varieties of non-veg omlet. Mutton chukka was very delicious however quantity was very less.

It was kind of an okay experience, not that you won't get it anywhere else but here. We dined here for lunch, we ordered "meals", mutton biryani and a few sides. The mutton biryani was quite spicy but good, and had some decent chunks of well cooked meat in it. It's served with onion raitha and mutton gravy, I was expecting "dalcha" though. The meals were a bit disappointing, although the mutton, fish and chicken gravy tasted good they all lacked any meat pieces in them even for namesake. They just served cooked peas as side dishes and when asked about anything else they said they're over, something they should inform the clients before they order meals. They served a potato dish later but that didn't justify the name "non veg meals". We ordered Crab omelette - it was very good, some decent crab meat in the omelette and moderately spiced, even kids can eat. Kola meat ball was fantastic, deep fried mined meat with spices, tasted as it should. Roast prawns were good but the portion size was disappointing for the price charged, serves only one person. "Amma mess special chicken" was deep fried chicken in thick gravy, tasted okay quite spicy and nothing different from any other chicken in gravy. We dined there around 3:30 PM and most of the items in the menu were not available, recommend to go earlier. Not many desserts are available on the menu. Overall the food was fine, but found it a bit on the pricier range. You pay more for the hype around the brand. Parking available but might have to wait during busier hours.

Second time visiting this restaurant in last one year. First time had dinner and this time lunch. We reached around 1PM but got the seats immediately. I tried the non veg meal and omlette. My friends were really enjoying with the variety of non veg items that are available. I could see almost all the spare parts of mutton on the menu over there. On top of it, one person comes to the table with few varieties of fish fry and mutton kola urundai. Except the service of few waiters overall it's a good experience.

This is the type of restaurant that you would want to go to if you want some good food. While the food is delicious the customer server also has its place up there, the waiters are always nice and kind. But only remark is the atmosphere, since it's located near the main road many traffic noises can affect your appetite, and also the children in the place. They are noisy as always. But still this place is one of the best up there.

Another good place that has been serving some good food for over 40 years. We had the mutton biryani with short grain rice and very flavourful. The mutton kola urandai was really nice. It hit the right spots with spice and flavours. The chicken 65 was nice. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Overhyped place with full rush and you have to wait so long to get a seat and the taste was pretty decent and not worth the praise but the service was good. Tried out chicken biryani and didn't like it that much and it was the same for meals(rasam was good), chicken 65 was good but the quantity was very low for that price, kola urundai was also good and the other side dishes quantity are also very low. I am not complaining about the pricing, it's actually a little low for a hotel like this when compared to other hotels in the same category but the taste and quantity needs to be improved.
