If you are thinking of pure authentic South Indian food, then this is the best place in kanpur. The owners are itself from South. The prices of food is very economical and has that authentic South Indian taste.
There was a time when this restaurant served delicious south indian food with love but as time moved ahead taste has gone out of this restaurant completely. Their Dahi Bada was once so delicious that I went so many times to eat it but now they serve it without salt without chutney or i would say without anything except money seeking eyes. If you don't want to waste your money go somewhere else. Plus you have to deal with arrogant owner.
I purchased idli,sambar and dahi vada from Ambi baba.No taste.Sambar was too sour.Dahi vada without chatni and salt.Masala given was so....salty.Ohh...can not go there again.Total waste of money.Can say once upon a time....
I think either they have forgotten to make dishes or they think public fool, Taste of Sambhar is not up to the mark. Pav-Bhaji deviates from it's original taste and moreover you can't eat a single bite of burger ,so much poor taste but price is not so low as their declining quality.
South Indian menu available. Quality and taste are moderate. Cleanliness is just tolerable. The food is meant for kanpuriyas who don't know the taste of high quality south indian food. Very popular with Kanpur crowd who come from long distances. Sometimes there is wait time of upto 15 minutes to get a table. Situated on the GT road it is very accessible. Reasonably fast service.
