Alt Life - Manali - Hotel in Manali - Kullu, India

Visited in April 2023. Had a great stay, the property is located in slightly secluded neighborhood which is great because there is no road side noise. It's very calm. The view is also very great, Mountains + River. The Staff is friendly and the service is also very good. Had three meals at that property and all of them were very good. The hotel is very well know to local taxi people. coming to the room, the room was spacious. They've put chairs in room as well as in the balcony. Balcony was also decent sized. The bathroom was decent, they had a high holding capacity geyser so running hot water was not an issue. The mattress was on the softer side but the comforter was very good, even in -2deg temperatures we didn't feel cold.

We were stuck in Manali during the torrential rains and flooding. Ajay bhaiya and his team ensured that our stay was as comfortable as possible during the dire times. Their kindness went above and beyond anything that the service industry can ever aspire to! We had 24/7 running water when there was a water shortage in town, we had sufficient power backup for charging our devices. Others were welcomed to the cafe for food and water. The staff took immense pains to ensure our vacation vibes continued despite the tragedy occuring outside the property lines. We are safely home and missing the wonderful experience that is Alt life manali!

The hotels ONLY good point is the location. Rest, everything is below average. Infact extremely unhygienic, understaffed, and unprofessional. Our rooms were dirty. Bedsheets had stain marks and even after complaining, they didn't change it. There were no toiletries provided. The buffet had limited options. Food is okay. The staff were least interested in their job

Awesome experience staying at Alt Life. The hostel offers stunning views of mountains and river. The staff is very helpful, and they makes sure you enjoy your stay . Food is also good. The best Hostel/Hotel In old Manali.

So we have booked this hotel from air bnb for a week before one and half month. We asked for certain room as we booked in advance but unfortunately we didn't get that. In our stay room hitter was complimentary at least they mentioned in the room description but when we actually asked for it they refused to give and ask for 500 rs per night by our host. After connecting customer support almost everyday we got some small amount of refund which was not worth wasting our time during our vacation,our host was rigid throughout for the situation. If you are a family or couple then this place is definitely not for you. Next to our room we had very noisy people, they were making noise till midnight. One day I had to get up in midnight and ask to calm down. This place has very less discipline for hostels they should have some discipline as I have experienced one person is continuously taking office calls in cafe area. Someone wanted to sit there and wanted to enjoy some time with their food, chit chat with their friends but won't be able to do it as there were constantly siting one person and was talking loudly probably attending his office calls loudly in cafe area. Very big disappointment for discipline and rules for hostel people. I gave 3 star because of the cleaning staff and food. And the reception people. We eat there simple food and we liked it. Room was clean and hygiene was maintained in the room. Otherwise our stay and experience could have been much better. Strictly not recommended for families and couples if you want to have peaceful time on your vacation.

Rooms: As per the pics they have put. But not recommended if you are a non-smoker. Dorms: No room service. No everyday cleaning. No balcony. A small storage cupboard with key is given. No privacy as they don't give the room key even if all the roomates are friends and booked together. While we were out, someone used our bathroom and made it dirty. Food: The food was good, though little on the expensive side. Service: We had problems with the bathroom toilet seat cover, which was broken. They never fixed it. Went behind them for a few days and they taped it on the last day. Working area is not very quiet as the kitchen is next to it, and always loud, full of flies. You can also see dogs in there.

Really wonderful place with some really nice and welcoming staff. No doubt, one of the best places to stay in Manali. Ajay and Aditya are leading the show with always a smile on their face. They make you feel so comfortable. Really nice food.. Very nice rooms, clean and you feel like any good expensive hotel room. Value for money is great. A highly recommended place to stay while in Manali.

LOCATION : its serene with a very few businesses and hotels around. Way to reach here is cumbersome since it is inside old manali and almost 2 kms inside from highway. However, if one wants to do old manali sightseeing by foot, it is almost 1 kms from most attractions. The only approach road to this place from highway was blocked for road construction. The other way is 4 kms long passing the river over an old bridge. Do check with hotel for approach road feasibility if you are having a vehicle and luggage. For single light travellers, it is walking distance and not a problem. Rooms : we had booked room no 207 a four bedded dorm. It was below par. The room is just cleaned by dusting and moping visible areas. Areas behind the curtains, on the walls, below beds etc are entirely dusty. The washroom doesnt have exhaust fan. There were atleast 50 flies on bathroom window waiting for us after checkin. The washbasin had a huge crack in the middle. There is no table/chair in the room other than bed. There is just an old 4 compartment cupboard which is almost about to collapse, where you can lock the luggage. One of the compartment door keys was missing. Room keys arent available and when contacted, the hotel cudnt find it. Main door is supposed to be kept unlocked. All the light fittings are haphazardly fitted with exposed wiring. Absolutely shambles for a room. SERVICE : check in and out service was perfect. Breakfast service was understaffed and very delayed. FOOD: The breakfast spread was adequate but since the hotel was probably understaffed, the refills were non existant. For example cornflakes was present but no hot milk. Almost 60% of items were out and refills had to be requested and waiting was almost 10-15 mins on an average.
