AIIMS All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Once as a medical student I wished to be a doctor here Writing my experience. My brother is admitted to AIIMS presently. He is a patient of chronic liver disease. We were visiting numerous doctors in Jammu(our hometown) and also consulted DMC ludhiana but the condition of the patient was not getting any better. He was taken into the emergency department of AIIMS and right after he was taken inside, a highly dedicated team of Expert Doctors and hospital staff have been taking care of him. They are extremely hardworking, kind and on the toes for every patient in the emergency care Unit. It is at this place you discover why Doctors are considered next to God. Because they save your life. My brother is recovering and still in there. I know, he is in good hands. Very proud of my country to have an Institute like AIIMS and for the fabulous staff working there. Immense Respect for their hardwork.
My experience at AIIMS is excellent . AIIMS is the best medical College and hospital in india , and even better from many international hospital also. So cooperating doctors and assistants. May be cured in homely and friendly atmosphere. It is a heaven of health. Working staff of doctors and some assistant are so cooperating more than our expectation. According to patients condition doctors physically help as much as possible Thank u aiims.

When the issue of funds for the setup of AIIMS, New Delhi initially came up, it was she who was instrumental in acquiring a huge amount from the New Zealand government. Over the years, she rallied around and was successful in getting donations from international bodies like the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Ford Foundation, as well as from the government of Australia, West Germany and the Dutch government. In 2003, the Government of India announced the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) initiative which aimed at "correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services".[5] This was to be done through two main channels: setting up AIIMS-like institutions and upgrading government medical colleges. Though the announcement was made in 2003 during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure, the project was delayed owing to the power shift at the centre.[5] PMSSY was officially launched in March 2006 and six AIIMS-like medical institutes were announced. The six institutes become operational through an Ordinance from September 2012. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 27 August 2012 in order to replace that Ordinance.[6] Lok Sabha passed the Bill on 30 August 2012,[7] it was introduced in Rajya Sabha on 3 September 2012[8] and passed on 4 September 2012.[9] The Act was published on 13 September 2012.[10] The act also allowed the institutes to operate more autonomously, and awarded them the INI status.[9] In addition, also conferred the power to establish other AIIMS-like institutes by gazette notification and give them equal status.[6][11] Phase I Edit PMSSY was officially launched in March 2006 and six AIIMS-like medical institutes were announced for under-served states in Patna, Bhopal,
