This park has a very solid historical background but presently it is a car parking point for imaambada zadibal.
I guess it's still under construction. Very untidy.
Ali Park is one of the historical place inside the locality of Zadibal. It occupies the unique position among Shias there. Historically the park brings sadness among Shias there as they referred this place the mass graveyard of Shia slaughter in 18th century. It's absolutely sad and gloomy to my ears when I heard all the story, old man wept while rehearsing the history. May God brings peace and love in the world!
Ali Park is not an actual park. It would have been eccentric, had it been developed. It is more like an uneven ground where boys often play cricket and volleyball. Its main gate is usually closed. During Muharam commemorations this park is used to give refreshments and sharbat to the people.
This place has a long back history that when long back, fight broke between two sects of Muslims in kashmir and zadibal part was about to be captured. Then many of the biibs (womens) were buried alive there so that in fear. Every year mourners go there and pay fatiha to them. I remember as a child my father telling me this story. I though it was just a fairy tale but it proved me wrong when i did my research and found that it has actually happened in the history of kashmir. Meanwhile alot of people tried to capture the area to build there house or shops yet some of its plane ground is covered in walls telling us a tragic incedent that happened. During asad which is a festival celebrated by shias in kashmir to mourn imam hussain or during Muharram in kashmir, this place stays open and provides food and chai especially noon Chai which is salt tea for mourners. This is provided by the local community there. Ali park. has given us a message that we as muslims should stay united and should not get in to fights with each other or with anyone.
