Alhamra Retreat - Hotel in Srinagar - Srinagar, India

Alharama is a fantastic hotel close to Shalimar park. Though it is not in middle of Srinagar or the Market area, but it's in an area where there are many high class hotels. If you have your car, or a package tour, the location is perfect. There is enough Car parking space available. We stayed here in two periods separated by 3 days. The room, which we got for first 5 nights was average and deserves 3 stars. They gave that room, as they were all booked. During our second stay we got a newly developed room in new wing, which deserves 5 star rating. Lined with pine wood, spacious and immaculate furniture. Beds has electric blanket. However, i would have preferred heating AC's as are there in many other hotels in Srinagar, even if had cost is more. All the staff are extraordinarily warm and helpful. 5 stars for their hospitality The kitchen which serves Buffet breakfast and Dinner is again Great for a mid class hotel. We had booked room package with lunch and dinner. I would highly recommend this kind of package for happy hassle free meals. Suhail bhai at the reception and Naveed bhai, the owner are doing their best to make all the management perfect for happy guests. On the whole, a very satisfying trip and stay at Alhamara Retreat.

Great service & experience overall. Definitely, have to thank the working staff for the pleasant stay. The staff is always helpful,pleasant and thoughtful. The food was great. Breakfast and dinner was included and it was yum, good selection of veg,nonveg & desert dishes. The rooms were really well maintained and neat. But the things used in the bathroom like bucket were quite dirty to use.

Very cosy and beautiful experience at Alhamra Shalimar. Staff behavior was so good in behavior as well as polite. Tasty food pleased us. Walking distance to Shalimar garden is a great advantage. Really a great experience!

Hotel is far off from the city and the receptionist is not that warm. The rooms are nice, nothing fancy. There is no view from the hotel. The dinner served was good but the breakfast was pathetic. There's also no lift. So if you get a room on the 2nd floor, good luck climbing those steps.

We booked 9 rooms in this so called resort through "Trek De Kashmir" and when we reached hotel at 3 PM.. rooms were not ready.. we waited for at least one hour to check inn.. and they have given us terrific rooms from 001 to 008.. rooms were in very bad shape,stinking and lots of mosquitoes... we have to vacant one room at midnight because not able to sleep ( having lots of flies ) and even after complaining the issue , manager at reception denied to give other room . .. some how we have managed.. next day our travel agent had upgraded our rooms... that were OK room... This property is far away from main city and hardly you will find any cab to roam local market. Even they have charged for water bottles( 2 bottles a day must be complimentary) but they did not... Overall avoid visit this hotel as food was also below average...

It was great experience staying at alhamra Shalimar. Highly recommended. Staff is good specially had a good experience with Irfaan's hospitality. Jain food available that too with amazing taste. Highly satisfied with overall service, cleanliness and hospitality of staff members.

Quick noes from our four days of poor experience from hotel It is off location Food is terrible Rooms are clean but they have a weird practice of cshutting down air conditions in morning and they only start after multiple calls to recpetion to start it again in ac. The ac power switch is somewhere outside room so you have no control on it. We had to call 3-4 time and request to switch on ac because we were sweating in hot june summer in srinagar. One funny excuse from them was that guy who switches on ac has gone outside. Seriously? Also they gave us worst view room even if their balcony rooms are available. I got this booking from travel agency GR Travel( would recommend never to use them), so i was unable to swith hotel and suffered for 4 days. Dinner and breakfast was included in package but we ate outside after day 1. Terrible experience, not worth the price. Should be less than 800 rs per night and stop food buffet.

Mr Irfan is a good hospitality captian and f&B STAFF IS VERY GOOD MR IRFAN KEEP IT UP AND THANKS. The hotel has very good vibes and hence could complete my Amarnath Yatra . All the staff are very courteous,Ever smiling and very helpful. We never felt that we were out of our own home. Cleanliness is given utmost importance which makes us more happy.
