Al Akbar Restaurant - Family restaurant in Margao - South Goa, India

I recently dined at Al Akbar in Navelim, Goa, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The service was notably below the mark, with slow response times and a lack of attentiveness from the staff.Moreover, the food fell short of expectations. The taste was below average, failing to deliver the flavors one would expect from a restaurant in a vibrant culinary scene like Goa.Overall, Al Akbar did not live up to its potential, and I left the restaurant with a sense of disappointment. I hope the management takes note of these concerns to enhance the dining experience for future patrons.

It's simply superb and affordable We were in the way to Gokarna and had a stop by. The restaurant was quite busy. We needed to wait for the table, staff were so humble, they have taken our order beforehand We ordered golden prawns and triple Schezwan fried rice, the quantity was good and the taste too.

Halal food, pocket friendly, ac dining (although ac was not working), taste was comparatively good. We ordered Dal Gosht, Red Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Roti. Dal Gosht was the best among all the dishes we ordered. They do not serve alcohol & beef.

Very typical flavours found in small restaurants in big cities. Different from what you would expect yet good. Tried Murg Musallam and butter chicken. Both were good, the musallam was better. Roti & naan were fantastic. Very basic dull interiors but the food is good and very reasonably priced. Would recommend to try if you are around.

Total waste for money food is worst and service is bad and cost is higher. For biryani they won't give you onion.

The spicy shawarma is best in town! I always have a quick bite at it and it's the best take away. It's filling and healthy. The perfect blend of spicy and perfectly cooked chicken makes it a great combo to relish. If you ever go by Navelim Margao you ought to jump in and have this one! They also have a restaurant that serves a good deal of menu. All my college life, this place was a hype and still is! Perfect treat corner.

Best place for lunch ,dinner ,a quick bite and even takeaway Tried the below items 1: Chicken popcorn with garlic sauce (5/5) 2: Al Faham Half Plate with garlic sauce(5/5) 3: Mutton Biryani (3/5) The quantity isn't satisfactory At all and the mutton pieces weren't that great and rice aswell was less and not worthy the price..... (stick with the chicken biryani oly) A small let down i would like to mention is the salad in the al Faham plate didn't look fresh at all and the mutton proper pieces were oly two the rest didn't seem right and four pieces in total **two stars down coz of this reason** I tend to always take away their fried chicken bucket combos ..which are totally worth the price and satisfactory Schwarma is available aswell which is pretty good Google pay and cash accepted only

The place was really dirty. When we were going to sit down at the largest table there were food everywhere on the table. Thats still excusable but don't know why the staff were waiting till the customers arrrive to clean it. Many of the tables were like that. There was even food on the floor. And about the food, saw and smelled one of the worst shawarmas. Couldn't bring myself to eat it.
