Akshaya Kumar Maitreya Heritage Museum, NBU - Museum in Bairatisal - Darjeeling, India

For those who want to know more about history, this place is perfect. I am not a student of history but have seen many historical things, idols of old gods and goddesses here. A very good initiative.

NBU Museum has now become a rich repository of collection in sculpture, coins, paintings, manuscripts etc. depicting the history and Heritage of North Bengal. It functions as a regional museum and is one of the few University Museums in India. The main objects of the Museum are to collect, preserve and study archaeological relics lying scattered in the six Districts of North Bengal and Sub-Himalayan Region.

The Akshay Mitra Museum of NBU is the pride of North Bengal since it adds glory to the culture and heritage of the place and has a huge collection of coins... manuscripts... sculptures from the Pala and Sena ages of Bengal... one must visit this place once to gain knowledge of our ancient Indian History...
