Akshay Homestay - Home Stay in Kochi, Chellanam - Ernakulam, India

The care taker guy Lucky bhai was really helpful. The rooms are well maintained and neat. They had big bathrooms which was also kept very clean. They provided us with towels and soap. Almost all the windows have mosquito nets. The bedrooms have AC and wooden cupboard. We had booked 2 rooms for 6 people. We had a BBQ setup near the verandah on the waterfront side. The kitchen had a sliding window on the same side, so we could keep everything inside the kitchen slab and still access them from outside. Parking facility is available only for 2 or 3 cars by the plot besides the road. There a police station nearby so there is the added security of constant police patrol through the main road. The roads were in perfect condition when we visited.

The hotel is located in around 8-9 kilometres from Fort Kochi near the Kannamally Church run by Mr. Benan. The homestay is located in a beautiful place from where the backwaters are a pleasant view to watch. The place is run well and quite clean. We stayed in the top most rooms which had a great view. This place is silent and serene and a beauty. The place is good for people who want to be lost in thought staring at a scenic beauty for a while to take a break from everyday monotony. The place is not for people who come here for sight seeing because it is located quite far from Cochin City and Fort Kochi. Autos and buses are available from outside there still it is better if you have your own vehicle. We had a little bit difficulty in commuting. But the silence and the beauty of the place discounted all those difficulties. Mr. Benan is a friendly person and is very open to how you can use the kitchen and other resources of the place. But, it is a homestay and hence one cannot expect some wide ranging menu unless one is willing to cook. The local shops are also not very close. Yet, he tries to give you a good support. Overall, as a family we had a great time.

Value for money hotel. Situated at good location nearby to beach. Beach is also good. Places nearby to hotel is great. Natural beauty is adorable from this hotel. service is very good. Mr. Bennan is every time present to help you and fufill for need. Great package. Will tell others to visit this hotel. Away from hazy city life . Backwater, Sea , Beach, Views everything is excellent. Just a little problem - Nearby there is no restaurants for eating different dishes, and little bit of transportation problem to reach there and same after checking out. But still Mr. Bennan manages everything soo that we don't face any problem. He also got us Dinner and breakfast and also arranged a Taxi for us. Bottomline is that it's an excellent place to visit and stay.

The location of this homestay is calm and pleasant. Located in Kochi but you will feel like you are in typical Kerala village bounded by Backwaters. The beach is very near to hotel approx 800 meters.The hotel has a kitchen where traveler can cook the food of their choice. The hotel manager and staff are very friendly. the good thing I liked about them is that they always asked me if I have any issues with the service. In two words, it was "Paisa Vasool" stay.

The beach is around a kilometer walk from this place. it's a quiet fisherman's town. no many tourists here. the home is just on the waters. you can see fishes of the backwaters while standing in their balcony. I would surely recommend this place to someone who just wants to go to a quiet, pleasant place in Kochi and that too only 50 kms from the airport.

First thing, this place is 10 kms from fort kochi. Search "Kannamali Church" in Maps. Sort of isolated place so OLA/UBER not available but you can get buses and autos all the time. Location is good for someone who likes to relax. Owner of the property is good and friendly. very helpful. He handed us couple of marinated fish for frying (there is an attached kitchen) and trust me I've never had a better (Fresh) fish than this (and I'm in this costal State for almost 2 years).

Caretaker is a very nice Human being. He arranges very cheap transportation for you. Breakfast is clean & homemade. Best option as a tourist to stay at this place. One must try fried King fish, that is the speciality of this place. Simple home made food, with the oil of your choice, one can enjoy, right at the bank of back Waters. The overall experience of the stay, can be similar as you may get by staying at the VERY COSTLY houseboat.The caretaker is a wonderful cook also, he wears true SMILE at all the times. One can stay at his residence also, on special request. There the garden is maintained nicely by his better half.

When in fort kochi stay far from the touristy parts and explore local life and see some scenic backwaters and a quite beautiful beach. This home stay is priced at only 1000 rs for an ac room. The food is homemade by the owners. They arrange almost anything for your sight seeing and other activities.
