With this memorial, they are killing Akkamahadevi and all the sharanas everyday. As soon as you enter the memorial hall, you will see a garbhagudi type with akka statue seated, garlanded, same as any god temple. You will see a priest perform pooja with arathi. She will bring theertha and that plate to you. You are supposed to put some money in it. Receive theertha. I see some people go around the garbhagudi, not to read vachana but as way of worshipping. The priest come out with a receipt book. If you have to enter a pillar type structure you have to pay. To park you have to pay. Yo enter the campus you have to pay. On top of it, they sell CDs and books on vachanas with zero percent discount. I say you should distribute freely and ask for donation. For non kannadigas they should display vahanas translated to English. Overall to know Akkamahadevi don't go to this place. Instead read her vachanas.
