Akaashmoni Resort, Baranti - Resort hotel in Barhanti - Purulia, India

Homeliness, Clean environment and ever-smiling staff is what which makes this place so special. Our stay was well catered by the people who managed the resort; on-time attending calls, serving our requirements, and consistent care was the most lovable experience. The room we boarded was pretty large and there's no complaint whatsoever about the cleaniness. The ambience was amazing, the food .. extraordinary (better if you order the bengali delicacies). Overall, our trip to Baranti, was amazing and the major part of the credit goes to Akaashmoni Resort. I would like to thank to every person behind this amazing experience and hospitality. The inside of the property is very beautiful with a lot of huge trees to keep the visitors company. The cook Nando Da prepares absolutely delicious meals for the guests, and the staffs are very cordial. That said, the condition of the rooms aren't very nice. The rooms are small and unclean, beds are creaky, and the mattresses are so thin that it feels like sleeping on wood directly. The driver's cottage is also not very good.

It's a great place to visit! Room service is decent, and the natural aura is mesmerizing. The rooms are secluded which aids to personal privacy. The only problem is with the drinking water as there is no packaged drinking water available. Also, the bed cushioning is a bit stiff. Have a little water problem. Good for short trips. The Resort is located near the river bank. Quite a scenery.

Food was nice. Rooms are so so. Price is bit high in comparison to the room proveded. The owner Jolly is a nice lady. Few doctors run the resort with the help of local people. Over all not bad. You need to hire a car to see near by places. The lake is the attraction. One can try the place.

Wonderful place to stay at baranti. With lots of free space and plants it is truly adobe for peace loving people. It's tranquil in nature.

Location of the resort is beautiful. Lake is at 5 min walking distance from the resort. Room was okay. Room service was good. They have their own restaurant, food was good. We have faced with only a problem, there was a rat or something like that in the falls celling and irritated us with sound whole night. At first we thought it was a snake but the manager told us that is a rat. Otherwise it was a pleasant weekend destination. Best season is the spring to go to Baranti.

Ill behaviour and Unprofessionalism at its peak. The ONLY highlights of this resort are - - Location (Located next to Baranti Lake) - The space inside has a lot of greenery - The cottages are equipped with ACs (some of them) The Lowlights - - Extremely rude behaviour (the working staff and the Ma'am who's the owner residing in GD Block Salt Lake) The owner spoke to us politely till the time the money wasn't paid; once she received it from us...her voice and attitude changed immediately; she became extremely curt. Such behaviour is bad for customer retention. I am no going to visit this resort ever again for her bad attitude. The working staff consists of a bunch of uncouth and unprofessional individuals who take a lot of attitude in carrying out their basic tasks. One of them charged us on Sunday (20 March, 2022) while checking out because they found a broken board in one of the rooms. It was broken even before we had checked into that room. They had slyly removed an amount of mutton which we had paid them...for our lunch on Saturday (19 March, 2022) leading to dispute. We did not get enough mutton in the end. One of the guests were asked by the owner to vacate the hotel on their second day despite they being confirmed that their booking was accepted. They still have not received their money for the second day's booking from the owner. The beds in the cottages are made of concrete. I do not have any enmity against the owner or the staff as this was my first visit to Baranti and Akaashmoni Resort. The behaviour in its entirety was abominable.

I came here with better expectations. But all went in vain as half of the given reviews were good,So I chose this resort. I understand the sentiment that few doctors run this place without shovelling profit into their pockets,but the experience is horrible. 1)Everybody loves nature but not everybody loves thorny caterpillars walking over luggages. We found caterpillars not once but thrice on our luggage bags. There were also a small frog inside the room and various kinds of insects. 2)Moshari and Blankets they provided,were as usual dirty smelly and we were scared to use them. We had to keep the lights turned on for the whole night and took turns,staying awake to keep checking if any more caterpillars or insects are there and we also had a kid with us. 3)Rooms are suffocating and extremely unhygienic. Not clean at all. And it's evident that the rooms were not well maintained at all. 4)There was a driver's room we booked for one night along with a family room. But the driver's room was so smelly,so suffocating that we had to ask for a new room with minimal charge possible,so that at night he can at least sleep in peace,not with breathing problems. It seems the room hasn't been opened since ages. But the owner wanted to charge Rs1800 for another room which we needed only for few hours for the driver to crash the night. The basic humanity is missing here. The driver had to sleep in our family room with an extra bed which hampered both of his and our privacy. *)They have package system for food which includes breakfast lunch and dinner. So you can not skip one if you want. You will have to pay for the whole and they charged double price for each person. You can eat three meals a day for maximum Rs230 rupees they charged Rs420 for each person. This was our entire horrible experience. Everybody wants to chill and be at ease while travelling but all we had to do was suffer.We stayed awake the whole night. This is not the only resort here near Baranti lake but we found this one available so we booked it but if you don't want to ruin your trip,cancel it for betterment rather than booking it. I would suggest to avoid this one. All over,I would like to give Akashmoni resort one star for the location(2 min walking distance from Baranti Sunset lake)and also for the okay-ish food cooked by Nando da. Thats all. Thank you.
