There is a huge lake on one side of the dam. We went there in the afternoon, even then it was not unpleasant. Tourists are allowed to walk on the walkway atop the dam. There is a large notice board in Gujarati saying 'Taking Selfies are not allowed'. There was a whole flock of migratory birds eagerly waiting for food while floating on the lake surface. There are vendors who sell food for those birds. Once people throw the food towards the birds, these birds fly up and catch them in mid-air. Just looking at all these birds having food at once is a pleasant sight.
