Wonderful river side place. Very well maintained with multiple ghats. It is also a historical and holy place. Roads are quite clean and well lit at night, So no problem at all if travelling with your family. Nice place to enjoy the views of the river Ganges. Plenty of chai walas so you can enjoy hot teas also lots of Street food is there which will fill your craving for snacks. There is a ferry service also to cross the river and reach Howrah.
