AGB Shivnivas Estate Bungalow - Holiday home in Valparai - Coimbatore, India

Oh god! what an amazing estate. Go here ONLY for the views and experience. The clouds hang out right in front of your room door. If you love nature and are grateful for the opportunity to stay deep inside a jungle, this is the place. If you are looking for great rooms, great food and other luxuries, you wont like this place (probably the rating reflects that). If you are coming with family, this place is best avoided. If you are a biker, a ride to this place should be on your bucket list.

Location is really good, no network coverage, only wifi, if you are looking to detoxify then go there. Service was excellent from anshadh, shobin and Sukumar. Food is below average. Rooms can be made better They have private waterfalls in the estate which can be accessed. But this estate is very faar away from the Valparai and near by village is approx 11 kms. Charges are very high for the services provided.

After booking five rooms through phone, we reached the entry checkpost on first day of Oct. Since the home stay had failed to inform our arrival to the checkpost, they didn't allowed the entry and when I tried to seek help, owner's phone was switched off, and guest house was not attending the phone. Finally after a long argument the kind checkpost authorities had allowed us to pass through. After reaching the AGB we found that the surrounding was dirty. Couple of rooms given were not cleaned properly, the linen hadn't changed and closets were dirty and the flush was not working . Surprisingly there's no toiletries including bath towel and soap in all rooms. On that cold day seniors like me needed hotwater for bathing but it's not available there . Moreover when we asked for extra tea (on payment) they didn't had even tea dust to prepare it. Food in this place was avarage, and they are not serving tea/coffee with breakfast saying that it is not included in the package. They had campfire and it was surrounded by some drunken boys through out the night more over the washbasin of dinning is kept near to campfire and ladies with us found it very difficult. We are very much disappointed and dissatisfied as this is a poorly managed home stay and management had charged an exorbitant amnt of Rs 2200 / head. Before booking, over phone I have asked the owner several times on the facilities we can expect there and he assured us a pleasent stay. It was neither there nor the owner was in the station. We will never recommend this place to anybody who wants to have good vacation.

The place is located deep inside the forrest region so you can't go roaming outside the estate area. But the route was quite adventurous. There's no network coverage in the region but they provide wifi. the staff were really helpful and nice, also the food was delicious. PS : If you're coming with family try to get to the stay before it's dark.

I was with my wife and daughter family,husband and 2kids. Ordered them food by12.30pm we got it by 3.30pm which was promised to be given by 2pm. Got towels after 5-6times request of one hour. Flush not working properly. Same in all rooms and with other guests. Food is pathetic half cooked chicken. Once you are inside you can't go out as it's forest. Rude behaviour by owner and other staffs. Be careful when you book. Worst experience of life time. Only 4people there to manage everything.

Its located in a dense forest. won't see any nearby shops . but their service is not good, average rooms only. But the location of the hotel is soo good. not recommended for family. Given worst matress broken wooden table broken flush presser

It was really a nightmare for us staying at this place. Me my husband 2 kids, parents reached there at 2pm. We had ordered for lunch by 12.30pm. We got the food by 3.30pm and that too very pathetic. Chicken half cooked etc. We asked for towels and soap. Even after requesting him 5-6 times it took one and half hour to get it. The flush was not working, we complaint and these complaints he takes it as this is forest and you should not complaint about these. Each query takes atleast one hour to be attended. We thought the issue was only with us, but there were bachelor's (middle aged lawyers, police officers and others) and in their 3 rooms also the issue was same flush was not working and the water from tap was dirty. They also complaint about it and he started shouting at us and he was saying the complaint should not be collective and each one can come and complaint as per his schedule. He shouted at us saying that he was a mariner for 50years serving some international people. After this he said he will keep a person standby at my bathroom to do the flushing. The issue was not resolved. We had requested them to give food at night by 8,30pm. We got it by 10pm. The bachelors didn't get food at night claiming that they didn't pay the balance amount. Its a request for everyone not to go there. You will get trapped as its inside a forest and after 5pm its dangerous going out. Night police came and some other people. The other people were drunk and asked the bachelors to leave the resort in that night. But as we explained the situation police asked to stay till morning. Becareful, don't book this place seeing the youtube videos which are very old. Everybody near to it know these issues even the youtubers.

Last week we visit to this resort I strongly suggest never go to this resort highly dangerous and worst path to reach the resort.. Once reached we never can't buy any essential if emergency.. no house keeping available dirty surroundings the property owner is very disrespectful also they charge 400 per person for food...
