Spectacular view from the dam site... Located foothills of Western Ghats and built across the Hanumanadhi River. The dam which has a capacity of 132.4feet. Dam having nearest resorts also.. like MMA RESORTS
It was an unbelievable site! Initially I thought it would be a regular dam and acts as view attractions to the tourists! But to my shock it was like mini falls! The overflowing water seeps down step by step and like a shallow pond was created beneath it where people were allowed to bath! Had a good view overall and enjoy our time there with family! And the way to the dam was spectacular! It was fully covered with greens and the ride experience is the best! Recommended for nature lovers!

Adavinainar dam is located near Mekkarai village undeer west ghat mountain in Tenkasi district. The dam is very beautiful and colourful location. Now the dam has full capsvity of water. Water is used for agriculture irrigation surroundings areas. This dam is in the border of tamilnadu and kerala. Near Mekkarai hindu god Murugan temple is situated on a small hills.
The Adavinainar reservoir is located at the foot of the Western Ghats in Mekkarai village of Shenkottai Taluk in Tirunelveli district. It is located near Courtralam and Achanikoil in Kerala State. People visiting Courtralam also pay a visit to this dam. Here, a small falls is available. Adavinainar Dam is located at about 7 Kms from Panpoli and 10 Kms from Sengottai. Sengottai is connected by road to most places in Tamilnadu and Kerala. Sengottai is directly connected with the City of Kollam via road and rail. The nearest airport is located at Madurai (164 Kms) & Trivandrum (100 Kms) roughly four hours by road and three hours by train. Pothigai express connects Sengottai with Tamilnadu capital city Chennai Egmore.
