This is a very popular tourist spot. The waterfalls are genuinely impressive, and the cost for parking and entry is very reasonable. I have only rated the visit as "ok" due to a few things that make the visit less special. As the attraction is very popular, it is so busy with people that the tranquility of the place is lost. Additionally, the problem with litter that is prevalent across much of India is visible here. People have deposited litter on the sides of the path and in the water which, again, takes away from the ambience of the place. It was evident some of the litter had been lying there for some time, so the place isn't properly maintained. There are some bins so they are trying to encourage better behaviour from visitors. To manage the crowds you are forced to walk along a prescribed route. This is required due to the numbers of people, however it looks as if there used to be an opportunity to walk further as a bridge crosses the river, but this has been damaged and not fixed so is out of bounds. On the plus side, entry is only 10 rupees, and parking is reasonable (20 rupees for a two wheeler).
This is a falls where you can view from 30 metres distance and you cannot able to bath. There are almost 300 steps to reach the falls view. Ample parking available and no internet coverage available near the falls. Couple of shops are selling food items and tender coconut. Wear cap if you are going there in summer.
Abbey falls is a really pretty waterfall, especially during the monsoon and post monsoon. To reach the waterfall, you need to take steps which is not weary. Once you're there, enjoy the beautiful view and click good pics from the deck. If you set your trip early, you can avoid the huge crowds and simply enjoy the tranquil and serene surroundings with cascading waterfalls.
Very popular and amazing waterfall. We visited this place during monsoon and the water flow was surprisingly strong. One has to walk a little down through the coffee plantation to reach the fall. Amazing beauty.
Abbey Falls captivates with its breathtaking beauty, nestled amidst lush greenery. The cascading water, like a silver veil, creates a mesmerizing spectacle. The well-maintained pathways ensure easy exploration, and the surrounding flora adds to the enchantment. Visiting during the monsoon season enhances the waterfall's grandeur, though it's a captivating sight year-round. The sound of rushing water provides a soothing backdrop, making it a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts. However, limited facilities might challenge those seeking amenities. Overall, Abbey Falls is a nature lover's paradise, offering a serene escape into Karnataka's picturesque landscapes.
Too many people, too many of them. The place is so beautiful, amazingly situated in between the forest. Waterfalls looks smaller in photos though, but it's quite huge. People with their phones and cameras trying to click photos won't let you enjoy in peace.

Abbey Falls, located near the town of Madikeri, offers a breathtaking escape into nature. As you approach the falls, the sound of cascading water begins to serenade you, setting the tone for the enchanting experience that awaits. The journey to Abbey Falls (Abbi Fall) takes you through a picturesque landscape, surrounded by coffee plantations and dense forests. Once you reach the falls, the view is simply spectacular. The water plunges from a height into a pool below, creating a mesmerising display of nature's power and beauty. One of the highlights of Abbey Falls is the well-maintained pathway leading to the viewpoint. It allows visitors to get close to the falls and feel the refreshing mist on their faces. The surrounding flora adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot for nature photography. For those seeking tranquility, there are several spots around the falls where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature. The cool breeze, coupled with the symphony of water, creates a serene atmosphere that rejuvenates the mind and soul. Practical Information: * Location: Abbey Falls, Near Madikeri, Karnataka * Entry Fee: A nominal fee is charged (INR 10 per person ) , and it's entirely worth the experience. * Best Time to Visit: The falls are at their best during the monsoon season, from June to September, when the water flow is at its peak. Don't forget to capture the magic with your camera, but also take a moment to immerse yourself in the natural wonder that is Abbey Falls. Happy exploring!"
We visited for the first time to this cafe. It is pet friendly but pets are not allowed inside the cafe we can sit out in the lawn area with our pets and yes a good pet parent must take cake of the hygiene too. Nice cafe we can enjoy with our pets bu
