One of the Good, Old, Tasty restaurants in Trichy. Those who like the MODERNISED TASTE of many restaurants, may not like this ancient Restaurant. It may look dusty, unclean to many people, but actually it isn't. Don't judge a book by its cover (look). I know many restaurants which look modern and clean in the dining area but how unclean they are inside. Rava Pongal is great here. For Dosai and rava dosai they use butter, not ghee. You will feel the difference only while you taste. You will get two small pieces of banana leaf inside your butter dosai or rava dosai. In the evening, try special sweet of the day... it may differ day by day like akkara adisal, badam halva, kesari and so on. Along with that try pattanam pakoda and Adai Aviyal. Disclaimer: Try this restaurant only if you like traditional taste. Otherwise don't consider this.

This is one of the oldest, Landmark hotels in trichy. The ambience will take you back to a much simpler times. What I really like about the place is their warm welcoming tone. They will greet you when you enter to come and eat, which is a touch you won't get in fast moving restaurants these days. Must try menu items would be Ghee dosa - they make this with authentic ghee stored in banana leaf so the taste is extremely good. Coffee - makes you want to ask for seconds.

In my search for authenticity, I think Aathikudi (Aadhi Kudi) coffee club has definitely been a stand alone. I've mixed feelings about this place but definitely leaning towards the positive end. As soon as I entered the restaurant I had a feeling that I've entered a 1950s Black and white movie set. Everything is old! I mean everything except the food and the calander. The staff are all senior citizens mostly and the table and chairs probably have heard stories of WW2 as it happened through the radios that still plays there. Let's come to the food experience. It's cheap! Cheaper than 90% restaurants. The food taste isn't comparable to the regular restaurants. It misses something (sometimes salt or sometimes the spice) but when you eat it, your consciousness would definitely tell you it's healthy. Must tries? If you're North Indian definitely not the chapatis. It's south indian-fied otherwise everything else on the menu seems good. Too much oil for my standards. Coffee? Yum! Place is a mess. Cracked ceilings, cob webs all over the place and of course the before mentioned tables and chairs. If you're a person in search fir healthy food and doesn't mind a 20 min not-upto the cleanliness standard place, I'd definitely recommend you Aadhi Kudi. If not just go visit for the experience. The lovely staff will make you sit and eat

95 years old hotel in trichy, opens at early morning 5am on that time you will get ven pongal,rava pongal and sambar vada. Pattnam pakoda,Rava dosa and filter coffee are very popular dishes in this hotel.

Very tasty, hygiene & authentic. All variety rice are so good. Jeera poli is a must try, even kids will love this.
