It's a nice place to spend time, and to relax... The view is nice... But the only thing is the smell that came after the breeze

Very nice place with a spectacular view of the lake but poorly maintained

Very calming place. Suitable for morning walks, exercise and yoga.

A well planned project, but very poorly maintained. The walkway is covered with over grown wild grass and weeds though it is paved with interlocking tiles. The lake is also almost covered with water hyacinth. Some birds in the area in the month of January (my time of visit). Though it is the migratory season, number of birds is very low.

Great place to spend evenings with family , near to Airforce museum .

A nice place to have early morning and evening hangout.. you could see some birds too

Akkulam lake was one of Trivandrums natural water bodies formed by the collection of rain water that flowed through a network of natural and man-made canals that were dug and designed to drain the excess water that the abundant rains showered on the city, into the sea. Today it is in a sad state, by design or default one can't figure out. The lake is surrounded by hills and the water from the lake flows into another lake the Veli kayal, which flows into the sea
