Heard about the story behind this, so finally went there. Google map helped a lot but there is no proper road to reach there. You have to walk some. The site is abandoned by govt. It is almost ruined. Backyard of graveyard is in bad phase. One time visiting place it is.
History and heritage enthusiasts and travelers may take interest and want to get here. The path leading to it starts inside a local settlement, off the main road. It's a layout type new constructions place so maps doesn't have proper route. Ask locals for Saathh Kabar for precise directions. The path to the site looks suspect but it doesn't take long. Use a stick to navigate the shrubs. Spot the graves beyond the boundary wall. ASI should carry some official information to the sombre site. You can carefully walk beside the mosque wall, there's a baoli/ stepwell like structure there. It's covered in thicket so please walk with caution. Would urge solo travelers to go with trusted individuals / group / guide. Look up bijapur heritage walks on Instagram for more info.
Place which is originated by very sad story, and story is what makes us to visit this place, As far as place is concerned its big open area and 63 graves are made and a huge well on the backside. Better if you visit this place in summers or winter, In rainy season the approaching road is very bad and not recommended for two wheels as well(though we did some offroading) Road is very narrow and not possible by car.
Part of history now in a dilapidated condition. Needs immediate attention and care. There are no roads up to the graveyard. You have to park your car about 200 meters from the graveyard and then walk through dense bushes to reach there. There is a good walking trail though. 2 wheelers can go up to the grave.
Maintainance is required its an graveyard of 60 wives there is nothing to see other than graveyard , simply you can visit to see not an epic place to visit with family
Not that easy to find, you need to rely more on locals than Google map to cover the last 50 meters. Locals are very helpful, so feel free to ask them for guidance and directions. Vehicles need to be parked and last few meters need to be covered on foot. I visited during noon, it's a calm place with a tragic story and would not recommended visiting late evening or post sunset at all. Gives a feel of a haunted place backed up by a story that adds to the feel and experience. Local government has maintained it well and was clean, if they can market it well and promote for tourism they can covert it into a famous haunted place in India.
This site can be correctly described as gloomy site. Still it signifies a major part of the history. This place is not on the list of most of the tourists here. But i would highly recommend a visit here. The car parking is little far away from the site. Small narrow road will take you to this site. This is a grave of Afzal khan's 63 wives. As the story goes, Afzal khan came to know about his certain death, during his battle with Shivaji maharaj, from an astrologer, so before that , he killed his 61 wives here by drowning them in the well. Two of them ran away, but were found and killed by his guards later. All 63 wives' graves can be seen here. This historical monument is a must visit, even though it is in bad condition.
Saath khabar were the tombs built for the wives of army chief Afzal Khan, during the reign of Adi Adil Shah II, the 7th ruler of Bijapur. As the story goes, in 1659 at the behest of Adil Shah II & Aurangzeb, Afzal Khan led his forces to kill Chhatrapati Shivaji. But an astrologer predicted that he would never return back to Bijapur if he had to fight a battle against Shivaji . So he massacred his 64 wives (except one who escaped) so that they do not remarry should he die in a battle.

This Monument called Bara Kaman ( 12 arches ) is the unfinished mausoleum of Ali Adil Shah II and is situated in the heart of the town inside a crowded lane so can be missed easily. There is no entry fee to view this monument . Parking is somewhat di
This is a eerie place with a lot of history attached. Recommend a visit to the place with a knowledgeable guide. Alternately, you can visit the place by first studying the history behind this cenotaph.
