5 Spice - Chinese restaurant in Mumbai - Mumbai Suburban, India

I recently Visited here, the ambience is old but classic. The seating arrangement is amazing, the restaurant is located on 1st floor, so the place is not accessible I have tried their pot rice which is very delicious and like a comfort food the gravy consists of lots of veggies and is very mild. I also tried the Nanking rice, It was flavoured rice topped with gravy with lots of veggies. It was tasty and not too spicy. I liked their kimchi as well. The service is great, the food quantity is totally worth the price.

Coming on finding the restaurant, previously it was visible from the main road but this time it was difficult to see in the day time. We went to have lunch here, the staircase is bit cosy and small, every step has to be looked to go straight up in the seating area. The people here are welcoming and they will let you sit comfortably, the space is pretty good and has good Chinese vibes with the interiors. We ordered three types of pot rice here, which are famous here but little costly in price. Mix Chicken and Prawns Mangolian pot rice Veg Nanking Rice Paneer Pot rice All the dishes were very tasty and the quantity was very good, if two people are in for food then 1 dish is enough for two because of very good quantity. Overall the experience was good but still the price is bit higher.

COCKROACH ALERT!! I ordered Veg Nanking Rice today and there was COCKROACH found in it. This is pathetic and extremely disturbing. What kind of hygiene you are maintaining. I'll never order again from 5 Spice who knows you might find any other INSECT in it. 5 Spice You lost my trust . Please watch out people. DANGEROUS & CARELESS

If you are a chinese lover, and when it comes to chinese cuisine, then 5 spice is the best choice. I have visited this place and it's simply amazing. They serve quality and the quality of the food along with the services are fantastic. This place is definitely value for money. Their Menu has a variety of options for Chinese food lovers. They have large and comfortable seating arrangements. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable while ordering food. Good place to come with family and friends. We ordered :- Manchow Soup :- Minced chicken with lots of veggies. The soup consistency is very thick. The soup was hot and delicious, Definitely recommended for those who don't like to have very spicy soups. They serve with fried noodles along with marinated cabbage, burnt garlic sauce, schezwan chutney and chilli vinegar sauce. Peking Rice :- It's a combination of Rice & Noodles, along with the chicken, capsicum and spicy gravy. The quantity was outstanding. The gravy was so flavorful. I would highly recommend this dish to everyone. Approx 2-3 people can eat this dish. Rocky Road :- This dessert is one of my favourite desserts. Bottom level consists of brownies along with chocolate mousse. Then topped up with 1 scoop of chocolate and vanilla ice cream along with roasted Kaju and almonds, and drizzled with some chocolate syrup. This was so mouth watering. Their Popular dishes are Crispy chilli potato, chilli prawns, crab meat soup, kung pao potato, rocky road, death by chocolate, thai pot rice, peking rice, shredded chicken etc. Overall my experience was quite good. Do try their food items and must visit this place. It's very pocket friendly and affordable to everyone.

This is going to be a weird review because I want to start by saying sorry to some people sitting across from me. I was asked how much is the normal tip amount, and i said up to 50 seems ok. Somehow the lady misheard it as 250 and tipped exactly that much. Now I feel bad for not saying 100 or something else.. Anyways coming back to the food, the taste of the food was pretty good. We ordered spicy chicken fingers... Which ironically was sweet... But still taste was good as the chicken was really soft. Quantity wise it was less as all the appetizers cost 455. Now at this price we really expect a nice quantity and not just quality. And then some drink called juicy bird 180rs. Now this was the best. It had a unique taste that you guys should definitely try. Then we went with normal chicken fried rice (365) as that is a must in Chinese cuisine. It was pretty good and quantity wise was too much for 2 people.. well even price wise it was a bit on expensive side And we went for chicken lolipop which were 8 for 455. Now I feel like quantity was less but weirdly enough the taste was up to mark. Compared to how soft the chicken in chicken fingers was the chicken meat felt missing in lolipop and mostly was bones. So maybe don't go for it. So we didn't go for dessert as the place really looked pretty costly for a Chinese cuisine and also we were way full for 2 people. Also the salad or whatever served in the beginning.. just don't.. either ho with fried noodles and scezuvan if you want to welcome people or don't serve anything cause the salad was too sweet(idk why they added sugar on fruits) and the cabbage was mixed with Tomato ketchup (why would you do something that people do at home)

I went there for the desserts -- Rocky Roads! It's not like what it used to be a few years ago. The price has gone up by almost 25%, the overall quantity seems to have reduced. It's less nutty cozthey only put roasted almonds now. As far as I remember they use to add cashews and walnuts too. The taste is still fine, but doesn't feel worth at Rs.300+ for a bowl.

The most pathetic 5 spice outlet. Restaurant was empty, smelling bad. Most of the signature dishes were not available. They did not have any lamb dishes. They only had one dessert, death by chocolate.. no Rocky road or any cheese cake The only good thing was the food taste was consistent like all other outlets

Overall it is a great joint for a family outing as well as for youngsters looking to have some mind boggling Chinese food and desserts.. We ordered the following : Chicken Peking Soup - Minced chicken and veggies in a clear thick soup. The soup was hot and delicious, managing to enhance the flavour of chicken. Definitely recommended for those who don't like to have very spicy soups. Chicken & Chives Gyoza Dimsum - Lightly pan fried dimsums that were stuffed with chicken, which lacked in terms of a flavour hit. To make up for that, the accompanying sauce was absolutely lipsmacking.. Crispy Spinach Chicken - Chicken pieces coated with a little sweet and spicy covering to go along with crispy spinach which complimented the chicken very well. The presentation and texture combo was really good.. Chicken Nanking Rice - A combination of rice and noodles acting as the base with a spicy ginger gravy on top consisting of succulent chunks of chicken, the quantity was outstanding. The gravy was flavour packed and worth every penny.. This dish is highly recommended.. Rocky Road - A dessert that has it all to enchant you towards dreamland. With a bottom layer consisting of brownie and chocolate mousse, which have one scoop each of vanilla & chocolate ice cream sitting on top that are drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped by nuts, this was very mouthwatering. The combination of delicious flavours and different textures was simply heavenly. This is a road that we won't mind taking again and again..
