1701 Gastropub - Restaurant in Mumbai - Mumbai Suburban, India

Rustico, a famous restaurant from south bombay has now made it's way to Juhu and i couldn't be more excited to try it out. An extremely large space suitable for huge groups where the walls are painted with famous Bollywood dialogues. A restaurant which is a bit too dark for a casual dining but pretty much impresses with it's fusion food and refreshing drinks. The staff is courteous and quick on their feet. Rustico offers a huge menu with multiple cuisines with some classics and lots of fusion food from Indian and Western origin. We started off with Maggi Spring Rolls recommended by the staff which was deep fried in nature and very average in taste. Paneer bruschetta was too filling to be called a starter and yet again average in taste. For experimental food lovers, you can try out Pav bhaji fondue or Dabeli fondue which tastes decent but a dash of lime and chopped onions over Pav bhaji fondue was missing which could complete the dish. The winner among all these was Kung Pao Potatoes, freshly made with lip-smacking taste and generous quantity. Onto the mains, we ordered spaghetti in pesto tossed with veggies which looked good but was extra oily. We paired our food with refreshing cocktails consisting of fresh pineapple, oranges, lime, ginger and all good things. Oberally, a decent dine in for family get-together and corporate gathering under a decent budget that serves food with good quantity and music.

It's open since last December but looks like it was opened in 1990s... The place needs serious maintenance and the upholstery needs a change. Improvement in the decor and appearance is must for any swanky crowd from Juhu and surrounding areas to be regulars. The food, pure vegetarian, was strictly ok, nothing exceptional but reasonably priced. Drinks also priced reasonably. Would definitely think before visiting again.

The place is massive and very well made. It has several sections dedicated for different things. We took the outside section which was also air conditioned and had huge and comfortable tables. The service is pretty good too. The servers know their dishes in detail and were more than happy to guide you on ordering. They have some unique dishes on offer such as vodka Pani Puri and Maggi noodles spring rolls. We loved the Pani Puri and nachos. The cocktails here are also very unique. They have put a lot of effort in curating their drinks. We called for the following. 1. Vodka Pani Puri - 10/10 2. Overloaded Nachos - 10/10 3. Lotus stem and water chestnut - 8/10 4. Mace cornetto - 9/10 5. Maggie noodles spring rolls - 8/10 6. Idli 65 - 7/10 7. Veg Biryani - 9/10 8. Long island ice tea - 10/10 9. Cocktail with test tube - 10/10 10. Brownie white chocolate dome - 9/10 All in all this is a wonderful vegetarian gastro pub. I would strongly recommend visiting this place.

A newly opened up place in Juhu, 1701 Gastropub screams of London. Trust me when I say, the place is HUGE.. It holds a capacity of 2500 people so know what HUGEEE means. They have a two floored seating wherein the lower floor is used for food and drinks and the upper floor is used for sheesha, as well as food and drinks. The sheesha is priced at 500 if you go before 7pm but after that the price surges to 1200 per sheesha. The quality of sheesha is really good so it makes it worthwhile. The service provided by the coal boys is also good. Coming to what I ate.. Cheesling Bhel : A twisted version of the puffed rice bhel or kurmura that we usually eat, this bhel is made with the cheeslings. Cheeslings is everyone's favorite, and to have it in the bhel is something amazing. Rest all flavors are same as the original bhel that is why I liked it. Order a beer and this bhel and you are set Mexican Fries : Mexican fries have a different version at different restaurants. The Mexican Fries here have refried beans, melted cheese and salsa on top. Garnished with spring onion greens, this makes it the best fries i have had. The fries stayed crispy for a long time. Tandoori Bharwa Batata : Tandoori Aloo is my favorite. Specially the one with stuffing. This tandoori aloo has a mixture of dryfruits along with mash potatoes for the stuffing. The mixture of sweet and spicy plays along really well. A must try. Chilli Cheese Rusk : In another words, chilli cheese garlic bread. The amount of cheese was far more than i habe had at other places. For all those cheese lovers this is a must order dish. Cheesy Maggi Springrolls : Spring rolls are like a must have during the winters and the monsoon. The spring rolls here are made with maggi noodles and also have added cheese in it. I personally did not like the idea of spring rolls with cheese as Chinese cuisine doesn't have cheese in it. It tasted pretty average. But you can try if you are a cheese lover. Red Paprika Paneer : One of the best crispy paneer I have had. This had paneer pieces coated in flour and then deep fried and then tossed in sauces along with red paprika. The crispiness was intact the whole time. I am not a fan of paneer crispy usually, but after eating this, i have started craving for it. * HIGHLY RECOMMENDED* Thai Curry Risotto : Thai curry being one of my favorites and Risotto being my other favorite, I had to try the combination of the two. I absolutely loved it. The thai curry had exotic veggies like broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers in it. The quantity is good for 2 people. A must try if you are a thai food fan. I had a really fun time here with my friends and looking forward to coming here again. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. This place becomes lit in the late evening, DJ is in full form. If you need a place to party, look no further than 1701 Gastropub.

The perfect place to hang out with friends and family.The location can be traced easily. The serivce of the staff was quite good.Was quite impressed with the food we had.The interior was just amazing. Had a great bollywood arts and retro tables which is a great highlight....! Talking about the drinks we tried a ronella (mohjito ),wisdom and summer of thailand which had a decent and refreshing taste then the starters my my which were so good chesse garlic bread,bbq burger, veg lollypop then the sizzler which had a great taste with all veggies now, moving on to main course which was panner dunguar we had it with tandoori roti had a awesome taste and then ended up with a sizzling brownie The presentation of starter and dessert was pleasing.The area is quite ventilated.The food is really good for the price. For the food lover one can indulgde themselves in eating. I am surely revisiting!

Now is this a great news for all the veg folks out there! This newbie in Juhu is a pure vegetarian restuarant and whats more exciting about this place is that it offers sheeshas along with some great drinks. From outside it may seem less vibrant but its only when you get inside will you realize how lit up the place is! Its extremely spacious and by spacious I mean it has a seating capacity of around 2500 people and is supposed to be the largest vegetarian gastropub in Asia. With sections for fine dining, private and lounge partying this place is equipped to host people from varied age groups. Comfortable sofa seating just blends well with the kickass ambience and the great music to enhance your experience. Items I woud recommend: Cheeseling bhel Tandoori Batata Bharwa version 2.0 Whisky sour Flaming lamborgini Over loaded nachos Paneer Chutney Chilli Kebab Exotic vegetable biryani Brownie in white chocolate dome Chocolate and caramel butter scotch cone shake In all I had a great time at this place. Service was prompt and the staff is really friendly and patient while taking orders (Even if you have a really big group). Would highly recommend visiting this place! This gastro pub in juhu is spacious to a great extent. It has a pub as well as a place for fine dine. All kinds of crowd be it young or middle aged would enjoy this place ! They have musical live nights and some attractive hukka, cocktails and food ! A nice ambience to visit. The unplugged music with some great crowd makes this place an awesome one. The food here is good too. Many varieties can be tried. The staff is courteous and polite. For all the vegans out there, this is a completely vegetarian pub

This place had the most interesting Indian flavored dishes I have ever tasted. And interesting in a good way at that. I especially liked the pav bhaji fondue, but most things we ordered were unexpectedly tastier than original versions of the same recipes. For eg, the paneer bruschetta vs a regular cheese bruschetta. Or for that matter the vegan peas soup vs cream of peas. Even the pav bhaji fondue was very tasty, except that the bread was plain - which imo is an easy fix. They should also offer a tasting menu as their selection and portion sizes are quite large. Highly recommended!
