16 Pillar Monument - Archaeological site in Nanjangud - Mysuru, India

Oldest and biggest temple in Mysore district. Weekend crowd is high. Situated in the kabini river bank. Nice time to spend with family and kids. Parking ia available on paid basis. Rs.30 for parking. Maintained cleanly inside the temple. But kabini river was polluted like anything. Karnataka government should take some measure to avoid polluting river.

Peaceful Worship, feels more comfortable energetic after worship. Traveled to Mysuru after that.

16 pillar monument on river Kabini, Nanjungad, Karnataka. Very good place to hangout on a long ride. I rode from Coimbatore to Mysore. On my way I saw this beautiful river bank, where the people were diving, playing, having fun, and some were spending their good time on the most scenic view there. Just aside that river bank, this 16 pillar monument is standing great over the river kabini. It was bliss to view that place in some perspectives. Huge trees to shelter from sun shade, chill river side breeze to feel the vibe, flowing water to dip the leg, and so on. I could give 5 stars, but a compromised cleanliness and maintenance of that place pulls me back to 4. It can be clean for the least, spending more time over there.

It's a beautiful monument that has been there for ages. When the water flow is low one can wade through water to go sit here. It's just that the places around it are dirtied and needs regular watch and clean up.
