Residence Inn Portland Hillsboro Hotel

I will give 1-2 star for the overall experience The hotel breakfast is worst sector,much lower than average Residence inn level. There are 2 choices for you, green bananas or half green orange. As a customer I understand hotel need renovations to keep quality, no gym or other facilities can be used, breakfast can improve as a compensation, let’s is feel better.

Overall, our stay here has been very annoying. Started by entering into a construction zone and a makeshift desk of plastic tables. After asking the construction team to kill the saws and drills we were able to hear the associate behind the tables and got checked in. Upon getting to our room we found a thin layer of paint overspray dust lining the closet. Which I didn't notice until I'd already gotten white dust all over my clothes. It did all simply wipe off and after cleaning the closet, we were able to finish unpacking. The new automatic lights are a nightmare. Lights just come on any time you move, so try not to move while your kids are sleeping. I had to cover all the sensors. Mostly worked after that, although now that the sensors were covered they will automatically shut off after a while of no movement. Which left me standing in the dark trying to shower one early morning. Seems like a safety hazard to me, but apparently this is a requirement from the city to conserve energy. The dishwasher doesn't spray and was not installed properly so you can't even close the door all the way without physically shifting the unit over every time. Bathroom sink leaked, so don't be like me and store your dirty clothes basket under the sink area, or you may find them already presoaked as I did. Maintenence came by and patched up the sink, but it was still loose at the p-trap and I had to tighten that up myself. The sun curtains were installed wrong and can't close so we've had to put a clip on the shades to keep them closed at night. The thermostat stat doesn't work, no air or heat, but we are able to open the windows to cool the room and close them to heat it -_-... The phone also did not work in either of the phone jacks in the room so you should plan on having to walk to the front desk for all of your maintenance complaints. If you would like to hit the gym to expell your frustration, get a temporary membership locally as the gym is also off limits due to the construction. Of course the renovations are not mention on their website and are not reflected in the price at all. All of that said, the staff have been understanding and have offered to move us to a different room. However, we would prefer to deal with the issues than to have to pack up and move again as we have been traveling for a while. The rooms are a good size, and as everything in ours is basically new. Once it's all functional, I expect it to be better. However, I'll have to wait and see as I am only 1 week into a month and a half stay.

staff is pretty friendly, but cleanliness of rooms and housekeeping could be better. there was some hairs left in the shower, and the cleaning that’s done every other day was mediocre at best.

Having stayed in many Marriott Group Hotels, I’ve seldom found one that’s friendlier, cleaner, or better appointed. The rooms are spacious and the kitchens, well stocked with cookware. The bed is so comfortable with a great stock of different types of pillows. The staff are outstanding. Willing to help with all needs and queries and very knowledgeable on local restaurants, shops, attractions etc. The complex has a secluded village feel to it. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, whether it’s for a short weekend break, or a longer term stay.

Have stayed at this Residence Inn many times over the last 15 years. It has changed very little. It was taken over by a different company a few years ago and they have not invested or improved. Counts on business fron companies supporting nearby Intel campus. There are other hotels, including another Residence Inn, that are newer and better.

I was very happy with my 2-week stay here. The room was spacious, the amenities generous, and the location perfect for what I needed. I personally loved the breakfast. There were several options every day. Standard stations included: freshly made rice, waffle station, juice dispenser, oatmeal with toppings, bagels and other breads/pastries (toaster available), yogurt, fruit, cereal. Then there are rotating hot and fresh foods. Usually one egg option, one meat (bacon or sausage), and otherwise you might get delicious potatoes, pinto beans, etc. Coffee was good and oat milk available for sensitive stomachs. The kitchen staff was so friendly too But i should make special mention of the front desk staff. Elias and (i think) Andrea were outstanding. They’re all so personable, kind, and they go above and beyond to give you a lovely experience. Thanks so much to everyone

Over the past two years I stayed here for about 10 months. I love the location and greenery around. Sometimes the parking in front of my door was occupied and had to park it further in the back. There's plenty of parking around the venue. The staff are very friendly and always listened to my requests. My preferred room is the one with a seperate bedroom and a big desk. Some rooms have smaller desks or even a fireplace. Highly recommend. I hope they keep the big rooms and only update the rooms by removing the carpet and putting a more modern flooring in. The carpet is very dusty and in my opinion not hygienic.

The rooms are outdated, the silverware was dirty. There were spider webs on the ceiling. The lamp shades are covered with stains, the bathroom is so small and fan is too loud. The towels when they came clean from the house keeping smelled dirty. Good customer service but they didn’t let me get a late check later than 1. Bad experience overall, not up to the residence inn standards that I was expecting, and I do not recommend this hotel at all.
