It's a beautiful resort, with a tea estate on one side, a stream running behind and the jungle close by. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is probably a hidden gem that needs to be advertised more. I do understand the limitations of keeping too many staff and pantry items when there aren't too many lodgers.

Had an amazing stay at Northern Woods Chilapata! Awesome location with beautiful view. Rooms are spacious, staffs are cordial and polite. Had the chance to meet Bhattacharjee dada, one of the owners of the resort, who is an excellent host. We were delighted, because everything was more than we expected. Recommended for family, friends and everyone.

This one of the best new properties developed in Chilapata Forest region. It is at the Bank of Bania river. I had occasion to stay there. I had a chat with the owner of the property on Face Book. He had shared his phone number and had personally handled the bookings. On the ground, the staffs were very polite and helpful. We didn't face any issues while our stay. The food served were fresh and had varieties of choice. I would highly recommend this place for tourist, who want to eenjoy the peace and tranquility of the Forest.

The hotel is really great. Room are clean and spacious. Room outside view is amazing. Food is so yummy. Many thanks to the manager of the hotel for his wonderful attitude towards us.

This resort is a brand new property and situated very close to the chilapata forest. We were buoyed by their hospitality. Everything about them, be it location, room amenities, room service, staff behaviour, food quality, inside and outside views is impeccable. I was also greeted with a special surprise for my anniversary even without being requesting them to do so. Highly recommended to everyone.

Staying at NORTHERN WOODS RESORT at Chilapata,surrounded by Tea Gardens, Jungle and a ever flowing stream; is a unique experience.The entire ambience of the Resort is not only beautiful but also full of excitement.The facilities offered by the management to its valuable customers is really praiseworty. The behavior of each and every staff deserves additional credit.Each of them renders services always with a smiling face.

A number of factors need to contribute favorably for a vacation experience to become satisfying and memorable. Our recent experience at The Northern Woods Resort in Chilapata (Dooars, Alipurduar district) is a great example of this. Located amidst the Chilapata Forests, the utterly beautiful, serene and peaceful surroundings of the resort offer a wonderful retreat into nature away from stress, chaos and commotion. The convenient location of the resort also makes it possible to turn it into a base for further exploration. For example, the Chilapata Forest safari entry point is just minutes away from the resort, another safari into the Jaldapara Forests via the Salkumar entry point is a mere 18 km car ride away, and it takes a little over an hour or so to arrive at the Buxa Tiger Reserve. The resort itself is quite spacious. The rooms are affordable, are reasonably designed, comfortable and well maintained. The help and support of the staff that we received here is especially worth mentioning and highly praiseworthy (a BIG thank you Sabitri'di, Sanjay, Biswajit, Rajen'da, Bhanu'da & Palhal for everything). One rarely has the good fortune of meeting such a cooperative and understanding team of staff who are so polite, warm and welcoming. Last but not least, the dining experience at the resort is also worth mentioning. To put things into perspective, one must bear in mind that the local marketplaces are quite far away (given that the resort is located practically inside the jungle). Naturally, one cannot expect a lot of variety on the menu. In fact, the norm is to let the staff know about the preferences/food orders ahead of time. However, standard bengali dishes (including locally bred poultry) are usually available, and the staff makes every effort to accommodate reasonable requests. The quality of the cooking is also commendable and the head chef (Somnath'da) is always very eager to respond to feedback and requests (as long as they are reasonable, of course). In summary, this was one of the most satisfying and fulfilling vacation we have ever spent!

We enjoyed a luxurious stay next to a tea garden, river and surrounded by jungle at Chilapata. 10 on 10 for location! Good food, cordial service and the owner Sudip babu is approachable and a great host. Probably the best in the vicinity! Absolutely recommended and should be the first choice for family and couples.
